We are a unique public library created by the Grossmont Healthcare District () focused on health and wellness resources, information, and programs for East County San Diego. Content Policy Advertisment: The purpose of this social media site is for the Grossmont Healthcare District's Health & Wellness Library to share news and information regarding the activities and programs of the Library and its employees. However, please be aware that this site is designed and maintained to provide a limited public forum where content is subject to reasonable regulation. Before posting a comment, please note: The Grossmont Healthcare District's Health & Wellness Library will review all comments after posting. The Library reserves the right to remove and/or otherwise restrict comments, or even the ability to post comments in the future, based on content containing any of the following:
-Comments unrelated to the purpose and topical scope of the social media site.
-Obscenity, pornography or otherwise sexually explicit in nature.
-Promotion of illegal activity, including but not limited to, solicitations to commit criminal conduct or incitement to imminent lawless action.

The Grossmont Healthcare District's Health & Wellness Library recognizes that social media tools are available 24/7 and we welcome and comments at any time within the limitations indicated herein. However given the need to manage resources, the moderation and posting of comments will ordinarily occur during regular business hours. Comments submitted after hours or on weekends or holidays will be read and posted as soon as possible if they meet the aforementioned criteria; in most cases, this will mean the next business day.

BETTER BREATHERS CLUBS | Living with a chronic lung disease can be easier. Better Breathers Clubs are welcoming support groups for individuals with chronic lung disease and their caregivers. This hybrid Better Breathers Club will be held on the last Thursday of the month, January 29th, at the Grossmont Healthcare District's Health & Wellness Library from 1 PM - 2:30 PM.

About the library

The Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library is operated by the Grossmont Healthcare District to meet the health information needs of local residents. It is a comprehensive consumer health library that is free, open to the public, and accessible via the Internet. The Library provides access to the latest medical information from authoritative and reliable sources, in both print and electronic formats. The collection includes books, journals, newsletters, pamphlets, DVDs, models, charts, online computer databases, and its website with extensive links covering all major health topics. The Herrick Library is a public library and offers many free services. It has 10 public computers (8 PCs and 2 iMacs). Library cards are issued with appropriate ID to community residents as well as those who work, go to school, or have health-related ties to the Grossmont Healthcare District (East County region of San Diego). The Library is named in memory of the late Dr. William C. Herrick, who served as a member of the Grossmont Healthcare District board of directors from November 1994 until the time of his death in March 1998. Dr. Herrick devoted his life to the improvement of the Grossmont Healthcare District and to the health of residents of San Diego's East County.
