The World Council for Medical Tourism– Focus on Quality, Safety, and Global Governance
The World Council for Medical Tourism co-hosted a conference, held in Amman in May 2025, which served as a key platform for dialogue among healthcare professionals, legal experts, and international stakeholders. The event addressed essential topics such as developments in medical liability laws, the impact of modern technologies on reducing medical errors, and effective risk management strategies in healthcare institutions.
A central participant in the event was the World Council for Medical Tourism (WCMT), an international organization dedicated to advancing excellence in cross-border healthcare. WCMT contributed expert insights on aligning healthcare practices with international standards, ensuring patient safety, and promoting transparency and accountability in medical tourism.
WCMT also presented its core services, including:
Accreditation and certification of hospitals and clinics for international patient care.
Consulting and strategic planning for countries and healthcare providers seeking to develop medical tourism.
Training programs for healthcare and hospitality professionals to improve international patient experience.
Facilitation of partnerships between global insurers, providers, and facilitators.
Through its participation, the WCMT emphasized the importance of integrating medical liability frameworks with medical tourism strategies, aiming to help host countries improve healthcare quality while attracting and safely managing international patients.
