When it comes to your jaw, head and/or face pain, you should seek expert care! You deserve to take care of your health by talking to experts who KNOW and are properly trained in Orofacial pain. The internet can be scary but also informative, so do yourself a favor and fact check. This past weekend, Dr. Sainsbury was installed as the 2026 San Diego County Dental Society’s secretary. Alongside him, Dr. Jose Castillo as the 2026 SDCDS President, Dr. Karen Becerra as president elect, and Dr. Virginia Mattson as 2025 past president. This executive team is a group of highly skilled clinicians in San Diego County and we are excited for Dr. Sainsbury to continue to be a leader for dental advocacy, continuing education, and leadership in our area. Congrats to him!

Orofacial pain is the only recognized dental specialty recognized by the American Dental Association for diagnosing and treating TMJ disorders and facial pain-which means other approaches are not ADA-recognized and training and methods can vary. Find a specialist near you by visiting www.abop.net

Big congrats to Dr. Sainsbury for being inducted into the American College of Dentists. This recognition is a great honor and we are grateful for Dr. Larin for sponsoring him. We were able to celebrate with Dr. Jeff Brockett and Dr. Sussi Yamaguchi also from San Diego. Seeing Dr. Bob Hanlon and having his support was great.

We had a great time at the San Diego County Dental Foundation Gala at the Mission Bay Resort to raise money for the John Geis dental clinic. This event gives guests an opportunity to help the clinic continue to provide essential dental care to those in need in our area. We enjoyed spending time with great people and seeing so many of our wonderful dental colleagues. Cheers to a great one this year and we can’t wait for next year’s event!

TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre of San Diego is a very long name for a very unique set of services. Although ‘TMJ’ is the most common condition identified by patients, it is a component of craniofacial pain which also includes chronic head and facial pain, recurrent headaches, migraines and neck pain. At TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre of San Diego, we understand these conditions are usually a symptom of a greater underlying problem. Successful treatment is based on identifying that underlying core problem.
