Hello ROOTED ladies!... Ok, this picture may represent the current summer mood or maybe your year-round perimenopause.😅 For me, both!🤣🤣😬🥵
BUT ACTUALLY... I'd like to reference 2 Tim 1:5-7 here. 📖💛 HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT THESE THREE SCRIPTURES GO TOGETHER? So often, we hear these separately... And, I think we might miss a poignant exhortation if we do.
2 Timothy 1:5-7
5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.
6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,
7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
First, we have discussion of a sincere faith... Then, because of this, Paul reminds Timothy to FAN into flame (get the picture now?? Lol) the gift of God... And, then, Paul tells Timothy that he [is to have] has a spirit of power, love, self-control.... not fear.
Perhaps we can conclude then that Timothy, a young pastor facing some opposition, was not fully fanning into flame the gift God had given him to build up the church... Perhaps he was reluctant, shy, meek, etc...
😬Sound familiar? Do you find yourself of strong faith yet not utilizing the gifts God has given you to build up the church? Are you quite reserved, introverted, isolated, reluctant, anxious, shy, meek, etc? Is it impacting you and your service to the church? If so... consider Paul's words in vs 7: "for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."
