Responsibilities

1. Assist with activities of daily living including assisting residents with taking their centrally stored medications. Following facility protocol, licensing regulation and guidelines for both resident and employee safety.
2. Follow safety guidelines in the facility , including proper lifting technique and universal precautions when providing care to the residents .
3. Follow the schedule of duties for the caregiver , as well as the individual plan of care for each resident including scheduled activities.
4. Function as a team , assisting co-workers as the need arises.
5, Monitor residents’ activity , food intake ,functional status , psychosocial status , taking action as requires to promote resident well-being.
6.Report status change immediately to the supervisor.
7.Act immediately on any resident crisis , following protocol and
8.Basic first aid training .
9. In the event, all assigned duties cannot be completed , ask for assistance and report to the Administrator.
10. Any other asssignments made by your administrator.
11. Prepare meal for the residents
12. Promote open communication between health care professionals, families, residents and staff.
13. Do all laundry and housekeeping services for the residents and the facility that is required .

Qualifications

1. At least 18 years of age
2. Have a criminal clearance prior to presence in the facility
3. Have passed physical exam with a chest Xray ( or an intradermal test ) performed by a physician within the prior six months of employment.
4 Basic First Aid Certification
5. Willing to undergo Caregiver Training
6.Good Mental Health
7.Must be able to communicate effectively with the residents, family and health care professionals.
8.Caregiver must possess the capability to read , understand and carry out care plans and physician's orders

I worked here before as a caregiver till I transitioned to be a bed side hospital nurse. This is by far the best facility I’ve ever worked to. All staff really seem to care about the residents. The owners, John and Mae are so professional, kind and very knowledgeable on how to run the facility. They treat everyone (staff and residents) as their own family. The place is well managed, maintained clean and has a very relaxing ambience especially the garden and patio. Food is awesome, always fresh and served in a timely manner. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a perfect “home away from home” for your loved one who needs extra care.

My good friend Mary Ruth needed to go into a home to be taken care of. Healing Steps Guest House was a wonderful gem to find. I go to see her every week. The owners and the staff are awesome, attentive and nice. The home is clean and the food smells so good.
They take such good care of her. Later this year she will be there 2 years.
I highly recommend this place for care.

Healing Steps Guest home has been a life saver for our sister. We never thought we would find a home as beautiful, caring, welcoming and attentive. It is truly our 2nd home where we have family gatherings for our bedridden sister. We spend time on the wonderful patio with great breezes and share meals with her in their spacious dinning. We bring food for family dinners. The staff and especially The operators John and Mae keep us informed of all her nurses visits and important health information. I highly recommend this home for anyone who is struggling with a placement for a loved one. I visit everyday and the house is beautifully operated. We are grateful, thankful and appreciative for their care.

Of all the facilities I have seen, Healing Steps is one of the few that passed my standards as I was looking for a guest home for my old and sick Aunt. The place is very clean, and homey. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a place for your loved ones that needs special care.
