Ayurveda has described sesame and Jaggery as two of the most winter-perfect foods that provides warmth to the body and also increases the immunity at the same time.The oil present in the sesame seeds helps generate body heat and keeps the internal body temperature from dipping. They also strengthen bones, boost hair quality, control blood sugar and keep skin healthy, as they are loaded with protein, calcium, iron and magnesium. Jaggery on the other hand, activates digestive enzymes which makes the process easier. It is rich in iron which purifies blood, while minerals like zinc and selenium prevent early ageing. The combination of Sesame and Jaggery also boosts immunity, prevents respiratory disorders and throat problems and guards the body from seasonal infections which is very important at this time of the year.
