We want to say thank you to our amazing practice manager GG! She has been here from the start and by the start I mean when we were picking out locations and then helping make floor plans. We wouldn’t be where we are with out her. She has been in the veterinary field for many years and has taught many of us how to be a technician. She has been there for many of us as not just a manager but a friend.

Thank you for all you do! We hope you enjoy your week and enjoy your gift!

Today is world animal enrichment day. Make sure your dogs, cats, and other animals such as pockets pets or farm animals have the enrichment they need! It is a very important part of pet ownership. When pets get exercise mentally and physically, it helps prevent them from being bored and destructive. There are so many options for toys, interactive feeders, and lots of DIY options for enrichment you can find with a quick google search.

November is pet diabetes month. If your pet is showing any signs please have them checked out by your veterinarian. Overweight pets are more likely to get diabetes. With an early diagnosis many pets live a happy and healthy life with daily insulin injections and glucose monitoring.

This week is National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week. We want to thank all the local shelters we have in Southern Maryland for taking in all the animals they can and helping them get the care they need and find homes.

We especially want to thank all the amazing staff that works at these shelters keeping them running and taking care of all the animals that came in and out of the shelters daily.

November is adopt a senior pet month. Senior dogs and cats tend to get looked over and stay longer in the shelters. These old timers deserve a home to spend their golden years in, just as much as the youngsters. There are many benefits to a senior pet. They have established personalities so you see what you get, they tend to have manners/training already, and can be lower energy.

If you’re looking to adopt or even foster make sure you look at the older ladies and gents in the shelter. Reach out to the local shelters as they have reduced adoption fees for senior pets this month! 🐶🐱🐾
