Can you guess how many leaves?!

Also, I just LOVE being able to take the time to walk with my families and not only talk about pregnancy/labor/birth etc, but also share my knowledge of plants. Its a special interest for sure and this family was lucky to have so many beautiful edible plants and fungi in their yard 🌱🌿

This is ground breaking and so phenomenal!! PCOS has been renamed to PMOS-- Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome to finally match what it actually is, a multisystem, full body disorder. Its going to help so many people with this to get treatment faster!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, dads, parents, and the people who lovingly step in and hold that space for someone in their life. 💜

It is such an honor to walk alongside families as they grow, change, and step into these roles again and again. Watching people become parents — and witnessing the strength, tenderness, sacrifice, and love that unfolds — never stops feeling like a gift.

But most of all, I’m grateful for my own three kiddos who made me “Mom.” Each of them has shaped me in different ways, taught me lessons I never expected, and helped me grow into the person I am today.

I truly couldn’t be your midwife without them.

The 6-week postpartum visit is always a little bittersweet 💜

This sweet family got their beautiful, redemptive homebirth—and watching it all come full circle has been such an honor. Just before labor began, mama took time for herself with a massage (and yes… she listened when her midwife said she needed one too 😉).

At our final visit, before their family heads off on a cross-country adventure, she surprised me with the same gift. And a cute shirt with heartfelt, hand written card 🥹

This is what we mean when we say this care is rooted in relationship. It’s never expected, never transactional—but deeply human.

Being seen, cared for, and thought of in return is such a gift. And truly… a massage is exactly what’s needed before stepping into the next round of due dates ✨

Honoring Black Maternal Health Week 🤎

As a white homebirth midwife, I want to be clear—this week is not about centering my voice, but about listening, learning, and actively supporting change.

Black women and birthing people continue to face significantly higher risks in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum—not because of biology, but because of systemic inequities, bias, and gaps in care.

In my work, I am committed to:
• Listening deeply to Black families and their lived experiences
• Examining my own biases and continuing education
• Advocating for respectful, equitable, and culturally safe care
• Supporting models of care that improve outcomes—especially community-based and midwifery care

Every family deserves to feel safe, heard, and honored in their birth space.

This week—and every week—I stand in support of Black mothers, babies, and the providers leading this work.
