Stand Down. Train Well. Stay Safe.

The 13th annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction takes place May 4-8, 2026. This week, we at goSafe encourage all employers and crews to take a break from work to focus on fall hazard awareness and prevention.

Falls remain the second leading cause of death in the construction industry. They are also a leading cause of serious injuries requiring days away from work.

Use this time to conduct toolbox talks, safety equipment inspections, or hands-on demonstrations of fall protection systems. Whether you are at a large commercial site or a small residential project, a few minutes of training can save a life.

The statistics are clear: 100% of FRC users want more breathability. 94% want lighter weight, and 74% want improved comfort. Heavy FRC causes body heat to build up, holding more sweat and preventing the body's natural cooling.

Tecasafe One uses a uniquely engineered fabric that is 5x more breathable, 30% lighter, and twice as long-lasting as 88/12, up to 4 years; all without compromising protection.

By choosing more breathable compliant FR clothing you are preventing dangerous heat stress and illness in your workers, plus providing longer lasting gear to your workforce.

Work is hard, but it should never be fatal.

Over 5000 U.S. workers lost their lives on the job in 2024, with a large percentage of fatalities coming from freight, transportation, construction and material extraction sectors.

These numbers aren't just on a spreadsheet. Each one represents a life lost, a family bereaved, and the mourning of friends and coworkers.

It's a harsh reminder that safety must be paramount in every workplace, especially in industrial and physical labor. We must not allow the daily grind or bottom line distract us from our responsibility to provide a safe, equipped, and well-trained workplace culture for our teams.

It shouldn't take a tragedy or an OSHA violation to remind us; we owe it to our workers and their families to put safety first.

Built to Last, But Can It Breathe? The Hidden Vulnerability of Your Gas Monitor

Despite rugged designs and high IP ratings, gas monitors can fail to detect gas if their sensors are blocked by fine dust or cleaning chemicals. Regular bump tests and sacrificial filters are essential to ensure accurate readings and worker safety.

National Work Zone Awareness Week serves as a critical reminder that safety is a shared responsibility. When driving through construction zones, your focus can save lives; both yours and those of the workers on the road.
Follow these essential safety tips:

• Eliminate Distractions: Put the phone away and keep your eyes on the road.
• Slow Down: Adhere to posted speed limits; they are there for a reason
• Give Space: Maintain a safe following distance between you and the vehicle ahead.
• Watch for Signs: Pay close attention to flaggers and temporary traffic patterns.

Let’s ensure everyone makes it home at the end of the shift.
