Yesterday I was in a situation that left me LIVID. I saw red. Old me would have snapped. New me has learned to slow down and take a deep breathe, so that I can respond and not react. I gave myself about 30 minutes to calm down and be still so that I could think about what had happened and respond in a way that would allow me to stand up for myself without chopping the other person down.

If I’m being honest? It wasn’t easy.

Let’s talk about the benefits of child’s pose…

✅ calms mind
✅ reduces fatigue/energizes body
✅ lengthens spine
✅ relieves tension in lower back
✅ opens hips
✅ stretches upper body & ankles
✅ strengthens knees

What if your body can’t do the deep knee bend? Lift the hips and open the space behind your knees (think of going from a 10-degrees angle to 90-degrees). You can support this space by placing a rolled towels behind the knees or you can lift your hips so they are over the knees and crawl your hands forward.
