Boundaries are one of the hardest things when we are wanting to please everyone, we do not know how to say "No" and when we are afraid to for the reaction we may experience. Boundaries with ourself can be even more challenging when dealing with substance use and addiction.

What great news for our friends at Ottawa PADS! Thank you for your support for our community City of Ottawa!

🚧 Great News for Ottawa PADS! 🏗️

IV PADS would like to thank the City of Ottawa for taking the next step toward building a new shelter on Canal Street, using the $2 million grant received from the State of Illinois! 🙌

We’re excited to partner with the North Central Illinois Council of Governments (NCICG), who will oversee the grant. Demolition of the existing shelter is expected to take place by the end of summer, with construction of the new $4 million facility taking about one year to complete.

In the meantime, we’re working hard to renovate the former YMCA on Jackson Street to serve as a temporary shelter during construction. Our goal is to begin overnight services there by August 15.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission to provide safe shelter and services to those in need. ❤️
