Our SCOUT team partnership in action with Thurston County Sheriff helping a houseless individual get resources 🤝

For our first call of the night, we were dispatched to the Maytown area for a report of of a person face down in the ditch.

Upon arrival, the individual stated they were houseless and tired from walking all night. Medics responded to do an evaluation and we got them some water.

The individual explained they had no friends or family to fall back on and no where to go. I provided a courtesy transport to St Peters Hospital where our SCOUT co-responders met us to work on getting the individual resources.

Sometimes people just need a hand up.

We were excited to attend and present at the Washington Deflection and Diversion Summit last week in Kennewick. Members from our Thurston and Mason County Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) teams, Trueblood Diversion, and Crisis Law Enforcement Co-Responder teams attended and we were joined by current governing board members Thurston County Commissioners Carolina Mejia and Rachel Grant and former governing board member Tye Menser.

One of our presentations was on our partnership with Thurston County Sheriff on the Sheriff's Community Outreach Team (SCOUT)!
