DYK? Vaccines work by teaching our immune system how to fight off harmful germs, like viruses.

Vaccines contain small pieces of germs, or weakened versions of them, that cannot make us sick. This helps our bodies to make special proteins called antibodies that can recognize and attack the same germ, in case we come in contact with it again.

Sometimes after getting a vaccine, you might feel a bit tired or uncomfortable for a day or two. This is your immune system gearing up to fight off any germs that may come your way.
