What was the highlight of your summer?

Mine was definitely a trip to the Canadian Rockies with my husband, Scott, to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary! 🇨🇦❤️

Kathy says she had "high-frequency [hearing] loss by age 30, but at that time, hearing aids were not sufficiently developed for me to benefit from wearing them, and no well-trained audiologist would fit me with them.”

Some years passed and Kathy was then able to access hearing aids and has done so for some time. Since being fit with more advanced technology by our team, Kathy says that she is "able to communicate easily with others, understanding what is being said. I’m aware when someone is speaking to me in noisy situations and follow conversations in small groups.”

Studies have shown that there are close links to hearing loss and some cognitives issues, including Alzheimer's and dementia.

This month is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month and it's important that we spread awareness for how your hearing health intertwines with these issues. Some studies suggest that untreated hearing loss can increase the risk of such cognitive issues or speed up cognitive decline.
