WOW! This community truly showed us just how much it cares by giving our residents a VERY Merry Christmas once again this year! Thank you so much to everyone who chose tags from our Angel Tree and to those who donated stuffed stockings and shared such loving generosity. πŸͺ½πŸŽ„ These gifts did not stay beautifully wrapped for long πŸŽ„πŸ’• We are incredibly thankful for all of you! πŸ₯Ή

This story means so much to us ❀️ One of our residents was able to surprise a familiar face on the court. The basketball player is not only special to her but is also employed here along with her mother and brother. We are honored to be part of such a close and caring community.

Emma Franks' mom and her coaches worked together to keep Lisa Funcannon’s visit a secret until game night

The St. Joseph Nursing Home is the first Roman Catholic nursing home in central Illinois.

The Home is located in Lacon and was built by the Daughters of St. Francis of Assisi, a small order of the Sisters who came to U.S.A. shortly after World War II in 1946 to establish an American Province.

The Sisters, following their charism and mission to care for sick, poor and abandoned, wanted to establish a service project in the Lacon area. In the beginning there were plans to build a hospital, but they found out the more urgent need was to provide care for the elderly and poor, and a decision was made to build a nursing home.
