Our caregivers at Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Primary Care on Wesley Drive believe in caring for the whole person, and this season they opened their hearts in a big way.

They picked an Angel Tree tag for a family of ten, including eight kids, and came together as a team to fill their holiday wishes with toys, clothes, bikes, remote-control cars (batteries included!), a tablet and even a grocery gift card for the parents.

The team truly opened their hearts, and they’re grateful for the chance to help make this family’s Christmas a little brighter. 🎄✨

Progress continues at the new Health Pavilion at Sawmill Centre in Summerville!

The 40,000-square-foot ambulatory building will bring a wide range of high-quality care closer to home, including a free-standing emergency department, advanced imaging, lab services and women’s imaging.

Highlights include:
🩺 8 emergency rooms
👩‍⚕️ 8 observation rooms
🦴 CT, mammography, MRI and X-ray imaging
💉 Lab services

Dr. Scott Ross, Dr. Scott Woodfield, Dr. Troy Bunting, Dr. Patrick Looser and the Roper St. Francis Heart Valve team recently celebrated their 1,000th TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) implant — a major milestone for our heart team. ❤️

TAVR is a minimally invasive alternative to open-heart surgery. Instead of removing the damaged valve, a new valve is placed inside it, helping restore function with less recovery time. For many patients who have limited treatment options, TAVR can be a life-changing way to improve heart health and quality of life.

Our Children’s Unit, created in partnership with MUSC Children’s Health, is now open and providing 24/7 care at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in West Ashley.

As Sierra B., RN, shares, she and the care teams have spent months preparing to provide in-house care after emergencies, reducing transfers and helping children stay with their parents.

With MUSC pediatric specialists, Roper St. Francis Healthcare nurses and aligned pharmacy and IT systems working side by side, families can be confident they’ll receive the same quality of care as MUSC Children’s Health.

Become a Hospice Volunteer with Roper St. Francis Healthcare

We are looking for compassionate adults to spend meaningful time with hospice patients. Volunteers visit patients in their homes or care facilities, usually close to their neighborhoods. You may sit with a patient, chat if they wish, read to them, play music or provide a few hours of respite for their caregiver. We’re also seeking volunteers to make phone calls to patients or family members.

We work with your schedule so you can choose when and how often to visit. No prior experience is needed. Every volunteer receives full training and ongoing support. Volunteers must be 18 or older.
