They made me a mother. Not the title. Not the role. The feeling.

The kind of love that changes your heart forever.

To my daughter,
thank you for trusting me to guide you through life, and now for teaching me how beautiful it is to watch you spread your wings as you prepare for college. Watching your discipline, your strength, your dedication as an athlete and as a young woman has filled me with so much pride.

To my son,
thank you for your heart, your determination, your sweetness, and the joy you bring into our lives. Watching you grow into such a disciplined, intelligent, grounded young man has been one of my greatest blessings.

Being your mother has been the greatest privilege of my life. And today, I just feel grateful. Grateful that God chose me for you.
Grateful for every sacrifice, every practice, every game, every late night, every lesson, every hug, every stage of motherhood.

To all mothers:
Keep showing up.
Even when you are tired.
Even when you wonder if you are doing enough.
Even when life moves too fast.

Your presence matters more than perfection ever will.

One day you will look back and realize that all those little moments built the people you love most in this world.

Happy Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother’s Day

To the mothers who spent their lives making sure everyone else was okay…
while quietly ignoring their own exhaustion, symptoms, stress, and pain.

The mothers who kept showing up.
Even when their bodies were asking them to slow down.
Even when nobody noticed how tired they really were. Today is a reminder that your heart matters too.

Not only your family’s heart.
Yours.

And for those spending today missing their mothers or carrying grief instead of hugs…
I’m holding space for you too. ❤️ Feeling especially grateful this year to still have my own mother by my side.

Happy Mother’s Day

Most ER visits could be prevented with early action. The emergency room is for true emergencies like broken bones or serious injuries, not conditions that could have been managed much sooner. Don't wait until it's too late.

Some days in perimenopause, you do not feel like working out.

You feel tired.
Heavy.
Moody.
Bloated.
Unmotivated.
Like your body is changing faster than you can understand it.

And on those days, movement is not about discipline.

It is about remembering her.

Your future self.

The woman who wants strong bones.
A healthy heart.
A clear mind.
Stable blood pressure.
Better sleep.
More muscle.
More energy.
More confidence in her own body.

Your future self is not asking for perfection.

She is asking you not to abandon her.

We keep calling it menopause.

But what we are really seeing is the first visible shift in a woman’s vascular and metabolic biology.

Blood pressure may begin to rise.
Cholesterol may change.
Visceral fat may increase.
Sleep may worsen.
Insulin resistance may accelerate.

And all of this can begin during perimenopause, years before a woman is told she is officially in menopause.

That is why perimenopause matters.

It is not “too early” to be checked.
It is not “just hormones.”
It is not something to wait out silently.

Perimenopause is a window. A signal. An opportunity to understand what is changing before disease develops.

If you are in your late 30s, 40s, or early 50s and you are noticing changes in your energy, sleep, weight, mood, blood pressure, cholesterol, or how your body responds to the same habits, listen to that signal.

Your body is not failing you.
It is asking to be understood.

At Women’s Heart Center, we help women connect the dots between hormones, metabolism, and heart health so prevention can begin earlier, not after the damage is done.

Think progesterone protects your heart? Think again. It's estrogen that keeps your heart healthy and blood vessels flexible. Don't rely on lab numbers alone; listen to how your body feels.

04/19/2026

The current approach to prescribing progesterone might be causing early heart signals in women to be missed. When estrogen declines, arteries lose flexibility, inflammation rises, and these are crucial warning signs. Ignoring them can lead to more than just lost sleep; it means losing years of potential prevention.

04/18/2026

Many women in midlife face struggles, but the issue often isn't just progesterone levels. It's about a missing bigger picture. When this is overlooked, it can lead to more than just sleepless nights—it impacts overall health and prevention.

04/14/2026

Many women believe incomplete information about progesterone, leading to ineffective treatments and missed risks. Medicine often confuses comfort with protection, leaving many to suffer. It's crucial for women with a uterus to take progesterone with estrogen to reduce uterine overgrowth and cancer risk. Progesterone is not a heart hormone and won't reduce heart disease risk.

Feeling unlike yourself in your late 30s, 40s, or early 50s? Early intervention can change your cardiovascular trajectory. Ask your doctor about estrogen and progesterone timing—it's prevention.
