I was thinking about the song by Simon & Garfunkel, I Am a Rock, and the word, island, in that song. Pray tell, what does that song or an island have to do with allergies? Well, the only time I have not had allergy problems was when I lived on the small island of Guam. The wind blew any potential problem off the island. But most of us do not live on small islands and this time of year can be very difficult for someone with allergies. I live as though I don’t have allergies… as though I live on an island. My husband used to come home from work on a Friday afternoon and go outside to mow the lawn. That was his way of relaxing … giving his brain a rest from all the brain activity during the week.
