Is a more flexible GLP-1 always a better option?

In this episode, I’m breaking down different GLP-1 medications and here, I’m focusing on Foundayo (Orforglipron).

This is a non-peptide, synthetic oral GLP-1, which makes it more resistant to breakdown in the stomach.

So practically:

✔️ Higher bioavailability
✔️ No fasting requirements
✔️ No strict timing or food restrictions

And while that makes it easier to take, it’s also not a full GLP-1 receptor agonist — which is an important distinction when comparing it to other treatments.

I break all of this down in this week's episode, including how I think about using each option in practice.

🎧 Don’t miss this one — this is where the conversation around oral GLP-1s is heading.

Kudos to the organizers, Rebecca, for bringing together such a thoughtful evening for Women’s Health.

It was such a pleasure to meet so many women, learn about their experiences and health journeys. The questions were great. We covered prediabetes to insulin resistance to GLP-1 to weaning off the medication to muscle and bone health. My emphasis to get a Body composition and Bone density was almost for every woman at our table.

Your hormones are not just about one phase of life or one system.

They influence your metabolism, mood, sleep, energy, immunity, and reproductive health—every single day.

So when you feel “off,” there’s often more going on beneath the surface.

This is exactly why World Hormone Day matters.

It encourages earlier conversations, deeper evaluations, and a shift from reactive care to proactive health.

Because the earlier we intervene, the better the outcomes - for your energy, your metabolism, your fertility, and your long-term health.

👉 If your body has been trying to tell you something, don’t ignore it.

👉 Save this as a reminder to advocate for your health and ask better questions.

New episode out now 🎧

What if you could get the benefits of GLP-1 medications without the injections, the needles, or the weekly routine?

In this episode, I’m breaking down the newly approved oral GLP-1 options and simplifying the science so you actually understand what’s happening in your body.

I talk about how these pills work, how they compare to injectables, what the clinical trials are showing in terms of weight loss, and most importantly who they may be right for and who they may not.

And one thing I really want you to take away from this episode—this is not just about weight on the scale. It’s about your overall metabolic health, your lifestyle, and what’s sustainable for you.

If you think walking is enough for your bones, read this.⬇️

In this episode with Dr. Pam Peeke, we talked about something that so many women get wrong.

Walking is great—but it doesn’t give your bones the stimulus they need to stay strong.

What does?

Strength training.

Because every time you lift weight, your muscles pull on your bones → and that activates your bone-building cells.

That’s how you maintain bone. That’s how you reduce fracture risk.

In this episode, we also talk about:
– Why muscle strength is key for aging well
– How this connects to balance and independence
– What to focus on if you’re starting from scratch

If this shifted your perspective even a little, save it and go watch the full episode.

Not all fat is the same… and visceral fat is the one we worry about most.

It’s not just sitting there, it’s active.

It can:
• Raise blood sugar
• Disrupt hormones
• Increase inflammation
• Impact your heart and brain health

The good news?

This “bad fat” can actually be measured through body composition and more importantly, it can be reduced.

With the right lifestyle changes, and when needed, medical options like GLP-1, the results can be powerful.

So if your goal is “just losing weight”…
Let’s shift that to losing the right kind of fat.

And if you’re ready to take control of your health, book an appointment and let’s create a plan that works for you.✅

If you’ve been managing a chronic condition for a while and still don’t feel quite right, this week’s episode is for you.

One of the biggest things I talk about is this—your body isn’t something you figure out once and move on from.

It’s constantly changing. The way you respond to food, stress, sleep, hormones, hydration, even the weather… all of that shifts over time.

So it makes sense that your care needs to shift too.

That’s why this isn’t about a one-time plan.

It’s about staying in conversation. Asking questions. Sharing honestly what’s working and what’s not. Showing up for follow-ups and allowing your care to evolve.

That back-and-forth is what actually leads to progress.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, it might not be about doing more. It might be about understanding your body better and getting the right level of support.

You’re not just managing a condition. You’re learning your body. And it deserves that level of attention.

If this made you pause and think, I’d really encourage you to check out this week’s episode.

There’s a lot more context that can help you.

I want to share something I deeply believe as a physician…

Medication alone is not the answer.
Lifestyle alone is not the answer.
It’s the combination that changes everything.

In this week's episode, I’m walking you through a real patient story—someone who had been living with type 2 diabetes for over a decade, doing everything right… and still not seeing results.

In this episode, I break down the 5 exact shifts that changed everything for him.

If you’re navigating diabetes or any chronic condition, this episode is for you.

You probably don’t need as many supplements as you think.

And that’s exactly what Dr. Esra Shermadou emphasized.

She recommends starting with:

✅ Creatine (3–5g daily)
✅ Vitamin D
✅ Omega-3

These cover the essentials for most people.

After that, it comes down to individual needs:

✔️ Electrolytes if you’re sweating during workouts
✔️ Protein powder if you’re not meeting your daily protein intake

And that’s where it stops.

Because the goal isn’t to build a long supplement list. It’s to support what you’re already doing consistently.

A simple routine is easier to follow, which makes it effective.

If you’ve been overthinking fitness, supplements, or where to even start… this episode is for you.

Go watch/listen to the full episode—you’ll take away more than just one tip!

If you’ve ever felt like you’re getting bits and pieces of information about your health, but nothing that really connects, you’re not alone.

That’s something I see all the time.

Patients are trying, they’re putting in effort, but they don’t have a clear framework to understand what’s happening in their body.

That’s where Hormones & Hope comes in.

I created this podcast to bring everything together in one place.

What you’ll find inside:
✨ Clear explanations without medical jargon
✨ Real-life patient insights
✨ Expert interviews across multiple specialties
✨ Actionable strategies you can actually follow

This isn’t about giving you more information to feel overwhelmed by.

It’s about helping you understand what actually matters and what you can do about it.

Whether you’re dealing with a specific condition or just trying to feel better overall, this is a good place to start.

“Why is this happening? Is it something I’m doing wrong—or just the world my child is growing up in?”

This is what parents ask Dr. Lauren Hartman all the time and it’s exactly what we discuuss in this week’s episode.

When it comes to eating disorders, everyone is looking for one clear reason. But the truth is, there isn’t one.

It’s not just social media. It’s not just genetics. It’s a combination of all of it.

And yet, parents—especially mothers often end up carrying the blame.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was how much our everyday language matters.

The way we talk about our own bodies, the way we comment on other people’s appearance—these small, routine things shape how kids understand value, confidence, and self-worth.

Shifting those conversations doesn’t mean being perfect. It just means being more aware.

If you’ve ever questioned yourself as a parent, this episode will help you look at things with more clarity and a lot less guilt.

If you see yourself in this, you’re not alone.

So many men delay seeking care not because they don’t care, but because they don’t know where to start.

And honestly? The healthcare system doesn’t always make it easy.

But prevention isn’t just for women.

It’s for every man who wants to stay strong, present, and energized for his family and his life.

And sometimes, one focused conversation is all it takes to create clarity.

👉 Swipe left to see what most men miss when it comes to prevention.
