The journey of parenthood—from the first flutter of pregnancy to the late-night feeds, coordinating childcare and extracurriculars, and beyond—is a profound transition. Social workers are often the quiet strength standing beside families during these vulnerable moments.

Whether they are navigating complex systems, providing life-changing therapy, or offering a steady hand during a perinatal mental health challenge, social workers show up with unrivaled fortitude and endless compassion.

To our fellow social workers: Thank you for your grit, your empathy, and the light you bring to the darkest corners of the human experience. You are the heartbeat of change. May we continue to uplift, defend, and transform our world. Happy Social Work Month!

To stay well, mothers-to-be need a combination of biological understanding, psychological boundaries, and a radical shift in how they view themselves and "productivity."

đź’ś Give yourself permission to evolve. You aren't just adding a baby to your life; you are becoming a new version of yourself.
đź’ś The right to say "no" to social obligations, stressful family dynamics, overexertion, and/or unwanted advice and opinions about what's to come.
đź’ś True support. A village that shows up and helps you -mentally, emotionally, physically, and logistically. It is so much more than a baby shower registry.
đź’ś A true Postpartum Mental Health Plan established before the baby arrives -do not wait on creating this plan with your partner.
đź’ś Nervous system regulation strategies -you will now be regulating for two systems -yours and your baby's.
đź’ś Strategies for self-care. Carving out time just for you. And no, you do not have to "earn" self-care/time for yourself.

Hey dads, society tells you to be the provider, protector, savior, play pro, and emotional rock —all while running on less than 5 hours of sleep and working overtime.
