The Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered EMT and its Board of Directors are profoundly saddened to learn of the passing of Shreveport Fire Captain Paramedic Mark Allen. Captain Allen was truly a dedicated public servant. His commitment to his faith, his family, his country, the fire service and his community, stood as a shining example to all who knew him.

Though cancer is a devastating adversary, Captain Allen faced it with dignity and strength, never wavering in his devotion to God. His legacy will endure through the men and women of the Shreveport Fire Department, his beloved family, and the many friends whose lives he touched with kindness and leadership. Our thoughts and prayers to his family, his community and the men and women of the Shreveport Fire Department.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire those who serve and protect.

DeSoto Parish EMS is excited to announce that we will soon be offering a comprehensive Mechanical Ventilation class for prehospital providers. This course will cover everything from basic principles to advanced strategies, with in-depth instruction on the Hamilton-T1 ventilator, including volumetric capnography.
