**MEET YOUR NEW USOLMT DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION, KRISTI WALTRIP**
Kristi is a proud advocate for Licensed Massage Therapists, massage therapy education and career colleges. She has held many leadership roles at post-secondary educational institutions including, Instructor, Director of Education, Instructor Development Coordinator, Campus Director, and is currently the Vice President of Education at a career college in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Kristi started her journey in post-secondary education in 2005 as a massage student in a private massage school where she later returned to pursue a career in massage therapy education. Following a long and fulfilling career as a massage therapist and educator, she joined a larger post-secondary institution as an instructor, where she eagerly ventured into allied health educational administration and campus operations.
She has served as Vice President in the Louisiana Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association and has been a licensed continuing education provider for the Louisiana State Board of Massage Therapy since 2017. She is also the creator of The Massage Project, a podcast that focuses on helping massage therapists and business owners elevate the massage therapy industry.
Kristi is originally from the Washington, DC metropolitan area and has lived in Southwest Louisiana for over 25 years. Proudly calling Lafayette, LA, home, she has developed a deep appreciation for the community and culture. She has been happily married for 15 years and has one child, Jacob, who is also a massage therapist.
Kristi has a deep passion for exploring the world and enriching her knowledge through education. Combining travel with learning, Kristi is constantly seeking new experiences and perspectives, which she can bring back to her peers with a fresh outlook and innovative ideas. Her global mindset and commitment to continuous learning makes her a unique asset.
Kristi recently accomplished two personal and professional goals that she is very proud of:
• Studying Thai Massage at the International Training Massage Academy in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
• Hosting her first continuing education retreat at a southern beach this fall called, “Fearless – Unshakable Confidence to Elevate Your Massage Therapy Business.”
Kristi firmly believes that career colleges have the power to turn students' dreams into reality. Her dedication to this belief drives her commitment to supporting students in reaching their full potential through quality education and training.
Kristi is excited and honored to join the Board of Directors with USOLMT, as Director of Education. She looks forward to sharing her experience and knowledge in education and leadership development with USOLMT members, massage therapists and massage students everywhere!
