The Family Tree and Miles Perret have partnered to provide support for patients and their caregivers. These groups will run simultaneously with the monthly scheduled prostate support groups and breast cancer support groups at Miles Perret. These groups take place on the first two Tuesdays of the month.

As we near the end of Black History Month, we want to reflect on those who have contributed to our progress, history, and education through their bravery and success.

One of our staff-led committees compiled a slideshow titled “Cultured Corner” that recognizes these individuals, showcases local Black-owned businesses, and shares upcoming events in the area centered around black history.

At The Family Tree, we acknowledge the importance of learning Black history. Not just during designated months, but daily, as it is essential to foster a community rooted in growth and unity.

On Saturday, February 7th, 2026, Mrs. LaToya Rideau was awarded the Love Our School’s Education All-Stars title during the UL Men’s Basketball Game. This award is designed to recognize educators and staff who demonstrate excellence, innovation, and care within their schools.

Mrs. Rideau has been married to Mr. Skasa Rideau for 24 years, who is our Zero Su***de Prevention Specialist for Jacob Crouch Su***de Prevention (JCSP). She has been teaching for 24 years and is currently a 2nd-grade math teacher at Corporal Michael Middlebrook Elementary.

We are proud to celebrate her commitment to shaping young minds and strengthening our community.

Staci is a licensed speech therapist with over 25 years of experience. With an extreme passion for supporting non-profits through her small business, she helps them grow, expand their outreach, and strengthen their long-term sustainability. She continuously grounds herself in her community by leading in faith-based and local endeavors.
Through every role she undertakes, Staci remains deeply committed to empowering others, strengthening communities, and inspiring growth through service, leadership, and purposeful communication.
The Family Tree is proud to have Staci as our board chair this year, and we thank her for her continuous devotion to our organization.

The Collective at The Family Tree wants to take a moment to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the values he championed; justice, compassion, community, and collective care. His work continues to shape the communities we serve and the work we do every day.
