📢Louisiana Blue is again encouraging providers to remind our patients to stay alert for health insurance scams!

☎️⏳Please be suspicious of any requests for payments or to share your financial, health, or other sensitive information. Scammers will often pretend to represent your insurance company or a provider's office (and they can be very convincing)!

👉TRUST YOUR GUT: If something doesn't seem right, or if they you are feeling pressured to act quickly, don't engage! If you want to confirm it's your providers office or insurance; disconnect the call, and call the office back directly by manually dialing the business number. (Don't use redial features or click on the number that they just called from in your call log)

👉Only respond to trusted contacts. Louisiana Blue does not cold call members to ask for money or health information. Remember that scammers can often use call masking (ID spoofing) which allows the call to appear to come from a trusted source.

👉Report scams right away. The sooner someone reports a scam, the sooner authorities can respond and prevent more scams or deeper financial losses. Louisiana Blue members can report scams to Louisiana Blue's Fraud Hotline at 1-800-392-9249. Patients can also report fraud at Tips.FBI.Gov or IC3.Gov or 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324).

Our annual decorating contest looked a little different this year!
