SAMPLE EMAIL:

My name is __and I am your constituent in HD__ and SD___.

I am a practicing Naturopathic Doctor in _____.

I am asking you to vote yes on HB24-1171, which would allow me to practice to the top of my training, and improve patient care.

Naturopathic doctors are trained to obtain a thorough medical history, perform a comprehensive

physical exam, order and interpret labs, diagnose based on the former and then unable to

finish treatment in cases in which a prescription medication is indicated. This is poor

practice and this bill serves to fix this.

SAMPLE TEXT - Should be short. if you know your Rep. or Senator well enough, you might say something like this:

Good morning!

Do you have any concerns about Naturopathic bill, HB 1171?

It is likely to be on 2nds tomorrow. And there will likely be a clean up amendment.

Have you benefitted from the care of a Naturopathic Doctor in Colorado? Do you wish your Naturopathic Doctor could see you through your whole continuum of care? Please. We need patient voices to be heard in the Legislature. HB 24-1171 is going to be up for a vote. We need your voice added to the support of this bill making its way onto the floor. Naturopathic Doctors have a four-year, post-graduate degree. Naturopathic Doctors receive 70+ hours of pharmacology. Naturopathic Doctors have a therapeutic order that focuses on least invasive practices. Naturopathic Doctors are focused on root causes, and preventative medicine, as well as lifestyle counseling, nutrition. They know and trust the body's innate ability to heal itself.

Please call your legislator TODAY. Here is a sample of what you could say, but please, customize for yourself. Just keep it short and sweet. (Unlike this POST. LOL.)

"I am your constituent in HD__ and SD__.
I am asking you to vote YES on HB24-1171 because I need my Naturopathic Doctor to be able to practice at the top of her/his training.
I want the choice to see my ND, and for my ND to have the ability to prescribe any medicines I may need, such as an inhaler for my asthma. I can see my ND for preventive care, acute care and for long term treatment. I have found that getting an appointment with my medical doctor can be weeks or months away. Having my ND able to take care of me to her/his training would save me both time and money."

Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are general practice healthcare providers who specialize in prevention and treatment of disease through optimal diet, lifestyle habits, and the use of natural, non-toxic therapies for people of all ages. 🩺 But how do you know you are working with a qualified ND?

Currently there are 26 jurisdictions (23 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) that have licensing or registration laws for naturopathic doctors. In these jurisdictions, naturopathic doctors are required to graduate from accredited four-year residential naturopathic medical programs and pass an extensive postdoctoral board examinations (NPLEX) in order to be licensed or registered. While our ND members maintain licenses n one or more of the regulated 26 U.S. jurisdictions, the state of North Carolina does not currently allow for licensure of naturopathic doctors.

⚖ The NCANP is actively working on legislation that, if passed, will recognize, regulate, and license naturopathic doctors in our state.

🌿 Licensure will improve access to naturopathic doctors for the citizens of North Carolina and will allow naturopathic doctors to become integrated members of your healthcare team.

Message from Dr. Eric Dorninger regarding the upcoming CIRSx Conference:

Greetings fellow Colorado ND's. Happy to see New Mexico naturopathic doctor, Dr. Juliette Sweet, meet with Xavier Becerra who is Secretary of Health and Human Services!
