CajunStork at The Natural BirthHouse

CajunStork at The Natural BirthHouse Come and experience the joy of a natural birth! We admire your desire to take charge of your birth experience.

We believe that choosing a midwife is more than just about where one plans to give birth; it’s about how one expects to be treated and made to feel throughout the process of pregnancy, birth and becoming a mother. We respect that there is ultimately no one who will love and know what is better for you and your baby than yourself! You have a right to choose a safe and satisfying birth experience! It will be our pleasure to serve and honor you during your pregnancy and birth experience in every way we can.

This is absolutely amazing research! Delayed cord clamping should always equal “wait until the cord stops pulsing”. Your baby deserves their own blood volume!

Our student, Tamera, is almost ready to sit for her midwifery license! We’re very proud of the midwife she is becoming and are exciting about her serving Louisiana’s future generations.

Milestone Moment ✨

This week I attended my 99th birth as a student midwife, and my heart is so full. 🤍

I am just 3 births away from being able to submit my NARM paperwork and sit for my CPM exam!

Every family who has trusted me during such a sacred time in their lives has helped shape the midwife I am becoming. I am endlessly grateful for the lessons, the tears, the strength, and the beauty that each birth brings.

Wildflower Wellness was created with a vision of offering gentle, respectful, and empowering care and I am so close to stepping into the next chapter of that calling.

Thank you to my mentors, clients, and community for walking this path with me. 🌸
Onward to 100 and beyond. 💫

If your dog follows you to the bathroom… would you bring them to your birth? 🐶

When your dog already thinks they’re part of everything, homebirth just makes it official 🤣

Seriously, dogs at births can be really fun (depending on the pup, of course). Most of the time they don’t do much except just hang out, pace the floor during contractions, and guard the birth pool like it’s their special duty 🐶😍

Would you consider it?!ci

Midwives don’t promise outcomes.
We promise care that’s attentive, thoughtful, and deeply human.

And when that’s the foundation, some pretty great outcomes usually follow!

Choosing a "Word of the Year" for your motherhood season can shape how you approach prenatal care, birth, and even postpartum.

If you had to choose just one word for this season…
which would it be? 👇

(You can choose your own word too! Just let us know in the comments!)

2025 was a really good year… but one of my proudest moments didn’t come with a milestone or a title , it came quietly, at sunrise, in a mama’s bathroom just a few short weeks ago when I got to attend a homebirth alongside my little cousin, Gracie. Our first birth together!

Rewind almost 20 years and I was caring for her as a young teen, carrying her around on my hip. Years later, she was the one carrying my boys, helping me through my own early motherhood. And now she’s a mother herself, with a deep love for birthwork that feels both new and ancient at the same time.

Gracie trained through Mary’s Hands, started her own doula business (), and now also works as our administrative assistant at The Natural BirthHouse. Watching her take her first steps into this calling has been one of the sweetest full-circle moments of my life.

That morning, I slipped into our BirthHouse mama’s home just before sunrise. Gracie was already there with hands steady on this mama’s hips, meeting her breath for breath in the bathroom. Down the hall I could hear that low, primal moan that tells you a baby is close… and layered over it was Gracie’s calm, grounded voice. Present. Confident. It wasn’t long before the baby arrived, another beautiful, peaceful birth.

And there I stood in awe next to my baby cousin as the sound of new life filled the air.
Together we were sharing something holy. Yes the birth, but also her.
Watching this once-upon-a-time baby girl stand fully in her womanhood, walking in a calling to serve.

Gracie, I am so very proud of you and excited for your future!!

No New Year babies today… but that’s exactly the point 😉
We’ve always believed in letting babies choose their own birthdays around here.

Flashback to this day in 2024! Believe it or not, we delivered one of Acadiana’s first babies of the new year just a few hours after this post!

This year the baby we thought would be the first baby of 2026 came a night early 🤷‍♀️

We aren’t overly optimistic that we will ring in 2026 with a BirthHouse birthday celebration this year. For those on baby watch, we will keep you posted!!

✨ The countdown to 2025 is on, and so is the race for our FIRST BABY OF THE NEW YEAR! ✨

Tonight, we’ve got 8 babies competing for the title! Among them, we’re thrilled to have 2 repeat clients —what a joy to continue being part of their birth stories!

👶 What do you think? Will it be a boy or a girl? 🎀

Stay tuned for updates—we hope it’s going to be an exciting night at The BirthHouse! Thank goodness we have a multi-midwife team 💕
