✨ 12 YEARS A MIDWIFE TODAY!✨

In 12 years, I’ve had the honor of catching hundreds babies… from serving women in the sacredness of their home to owning and operating Louisiana’s first midwife-owned birth center. I’ve worked alongside some incredible birth workers, physicians and soon-to-be midwives in some of the longest days (and nights) in our shared calling to serve. In recent years I’ve also had the privilege of sharing the message of joy through natural birth with millions around the world- 22 million and counting!! 🌍

I’ve held space for powerful mamas, comforted dads, counted fingers and toes with siblings, and learned something new at every single birth. I am always left in awe.

This work has shaped me, stretched me, and blessed me beyond measure. From my very first catch to where CajunStork and The Natural BirthHouse are today has been a story only God could write 🙌. It’s a calling that I would never serve without His grace.

Thank you to every family who has trusted me and my birth center, The Natural BirthHouse, in your most vulnerable and joyful moments. It’s such an honor to serve you!

1- Transfers are LOW! 📉
Most of our families never need to leave for hospital care.

2- Emergency transfers are even lower👏
Think once every 1–3 years low. And bonus... our transferring hospital is only 90 seconds away and has a 24/7 OB & Anesthesiologist in house, ICU and NICU!

3- BirthHouse transfers often still end in vaginal birth 🙌

Compare the stats for head-down, term, low risk first time pregnancies:

Local hospital c-section rate: 33%
BirthHouse Mama transfer c-section rate: just 4–7%!!

🤔 The only real difference? The chosen care provider + first choice place of birth 🫢

One of the sweetest parts of this work is the relationships that grow along the way. This month, families have blessed us with homemade treats, gluten-free snacks, and even a fresh French press at sunrise when we arrived for a homebirth 💕

We’re so grateful for both their thoughtfulness and also for the privilege of being invited into such a sacred season of life. My favorite part about midwifery care is the authentic connection! We are a team who knows you, supports you, and celebrates with you in the awe and JOY of your baby’s birth today. We are bonded for life!

Americans typically spend Labor Day grilling burgers and hotdogs… But this midwife is still waiting for the day I get to say:

‘Forget the grill, we’ve got a bun coming out of the oven!’ 🍞👶🔥

I've been attending births since 2009 and still no official Labor Day baby. Maybe 2025 is my year?! Stay tuned!!!
