The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office has positively identified the deceased male involved in the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Lafayette, Indiana. The decedent has been identified as James Robert Allison, 66 years of age, of Lafayette, Indiana.

James Robert Allison
• Preliminary Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office extends its condolences to the family of Mr. Allison and respectfully requests that their privacy be honored during this difficult time.
