We are excited to launch the ECHO Louisiana Community Coalition as part of our work at the Louisiana Center for Health Innovation (LCHI) at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Led by Angie V. Sanchez, MD, MPH, and Sadie S., this initiative aims to strengthen maternal health by expanding access to education and resources throughout Region 5.

In collaboration with the Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center (SWLAHEC) and with support from Pfizer Global Medical Grants & Partnerships Program, this effort will engage families, birth workers, and community health teams to develop educational tools that reflect the needs and experiences of the region.

As the new academic year begins, we’re proud to reflect on the Louisiana Center for Health Innovation’s collaborations with the UL Lafayette College of Nursing and Health Sciences, featured in the Summer Newsletter.

LCHI helped bring international attention to our campus through the 46th Annual American Romanian Academy Congress, which welcomed global leaders in health informatics and biomedical research. We also celebrated UL Lafayette's recognition as a HIMSS Approved Education Partner, a designation that reflects our shared commitment to advancing healthcare education.

Through the TExBioMed Summer Institute, LCHI, in partnership with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, provided students with immersive training in biomedical informatics, AI in healthcare, and translational research. These experiences are helping prepare the next generation of health professionals to lead with innovation and impact.
