Thro

ugh her dedication, Barbara L Persons, MD, FACS has earned the opportunity to work closely with world renowned experts and leaders in the field of Plastic Surgery. In 2006, she was an Adult Craniofacial Fellow under Marcus Walkinshaw, MD, FACS, and a Breast Aesthetic Fellow under John B. She speaks regularly at national conferences, has contributed to several medical textbooks, and has been published mulitple times in medical journals. In the book Kuerer's Breast Surgical Oncology, she wrote a chapter entitled "Breast Reconstruction uses the Autogenous Latissimus Dorsi Myocutaneous Flap.” The medical textbook was published by McGraw Hill Publishing Company. A Lifetime of Learning:

Barbara L Persons, MD, FACS grew up in Lafayette, California. She attended local public schools: Vallecito Grammar School, Stanley Middle School, and Acalanes High School. She began studying for a career in medicine at University of California at San Diego, where she earned her degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She received her medical degree from The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine, University of Vermont. She furthered her medical education and training at Dartmouth College, University of California, Davis, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. A Personal History with Reconstructive Surgery:

The Lafayette native had her life forever changed when she was involved in a near fatal car accident at the age of 25. She underwent fourteen reconstructive surgeries, many to restore her facial features. Dr. Persons saw firsthand the transformative ability a Plastic Surgeon had in her life by returning her broken face to the one she recognized as her own. Just recently Dr. Persons had the opportunity to repair a patient's face and skull following a violent crime. Once recovered, he should be able to live his life without the constant reminder in the mirror of the violence he experienced. He even said his friends cannot believe he had a gunshot wound to the face. Serving The Community:

Serving the community has always been a driving force in Dr. Persons' life. After her residency, she spent two years serving in the U.S. Public Health Service Corps at Inscription House Health Center on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Northern Arizona. Eighty percent of her patients did not have electricity, running water or phones. Dr. Persons' community focus is further reflected by her office accepting most insurance coverage, as well as supporting the plastic surgery emergencies at the numerous hospitals in the East Bay, including John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek, San Ramon Regional Medical Center, and Kindred Hospital- San Francisco Bay Area in San Leandro.

I’m so impressed with Ricki Lake’s recent openness about her facelift - and honestly, it looks fantastic! 👏As a plastic surgeon, I’ve noticed that about 90% of my patients prefer to keep their procedures private, which I completely understand and respect. But there’s something powerful about celebrities like Ricky being transparent about their choices. After surviving a near-fatal car accident in my 20s that required 18 reconstructive facial surgeries, I’ve gained a unique perspective on both reconstructive and cosmetic procedures. I’ve also been open about my own cosmetic surgeries - breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and facial enhancements. When we normalize these conversations, we reduce stigma and help people make informed decisions. Whether someone chooses surgery or not, the key is feeling confident in your own skin. What are your thoughts on celebrity transparency about cosmetic procedures?//

KRIS JENNER'S INCREDIBLE TRANSFORMATION - HERE'S WHAT I SEE 👁️‍🗨️

Everyone is asking about Kris Jenner's recent look, so let me break it down as a plastic surgeon:

THE SURGICAL SUCCESS ✂️
This appears to be a beautifully executed second facelift. The results are natural yet dramatic - her jawline is crisp, the lift is evident but not overdone. This is what happens when you work with a skilled surgeon who understands facial anatomy.

FILLER GAME STRONG 💉
Here's what's interesting - it looks like previous filler was actually REMOVED or dissolved. Sometimes the best aesthetic decision is knowing when to take things away rather than add more. Her face looks more balanced and youthful as a result.

THE WEIGHT FACTOR ⚖️
Significant weight loss has completely changed her facial structure. While we can't confirm the exact method, the rapid results suggest possible GLP-1 medications (think Ozempic/Wegovy) may have played a role.
MY PROFESSIONAL TAKE 🩺
This transformation shows the power of:

Strategic surgical timing
Knowing when less is more with fillers
Comprehensive approach (surgery + weight management)
Working with experienced professionals

The results speak for themselves - she looks refreshed, not "done."
What are your thoughts on her new look?

This flag was presented to us at my father's memorial eight years ago.

My father, Paul Persons, was a pilot who flew a torpedo bomber in World War II off the Enterprise. Thankfully, he did not die in service, but half of his squadron did.

On this Memorial Day, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country - the men and women who died in military service. We remember the fallen heroes, including those brave souls from my father's squadron who never made it home.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
