Affiliated Blind of Louisiana Join ABL!!!! Help us educate the community about blindness, learn about the ABL Training Center, and share your ideas and personal experiences In 1989 Mr.

Affiliated Blind of Louisiana, Inc. was founded in 1983 as a private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing special services and training to Louisiana visually-impaired, blind and deaf-blind populations. Although numerous services were provided by ABL during its early years, creation of a training center was always envisioned by the original founders. John Lemaire and others founded Affiliated Blind of Louisiana Enterprises, Inc. ABLE was created as a fund-raising entity to help fulfill the dreams of the training center. In less than three years ABLE raised over $1 million through bingo operations.

Huge thanks to the Senior Girls from the Academy of the Sacred Heart! These amazing young women dedicated their time and energy to help us prepare for the upcoming holidays. They did an outstanding job!

The ladies set up decorations for our Thanksgiving feast with clients and staff. They set up a couple of trees to help us get an early start decking the halls for our Christmas season.

We had so much fun, teaching them what we do and sharing our mission. Thank you ladies for your service and making our Training Center beautiful.

What a wonderful surprise! We received a beautiful and thoughtful gift, this lovely wooden plaque with our organization’s name and founding year engraved on it. We are so grateful for this anonymous gift. If you happen to know who our generous secret admirer is, please let us know, we would like to thank them personally. We can’t wait to display it, reminding us of the incredible community who supports us.
