Affiliated Blind of Louisiana, Inc. was founded in 1983 as a private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing special services and training to Louisiana visually-impaired, blind and deaf-blind populations. Although numerous services were provided by ABL during its early years, creation of a training center was always envisioned by the original founders. John Lemaire and others founded Affil

iated Blind of Louisiana Enterprises, Inc. ABLE was created as a fund-raising entity to help fulfill the dreams of the training center. In less than three years ABLE raised over $1 million through bingo operations.

This event is for all ages. Bring your family, friends or come solo. Weather permitting, we will paint outdoors under the oaks. Music, desserts, and free giveaways provided.

I just got this album in from Wisconsin of one of our long time Acadiana Chapter members, Morris Francis. He put this out in 1986 on Maison de Soul records out of Ville Platte. He recorded it at La Louisianne Studio here in Lafayette. That’s the same studio I recorded my CD. I’ve been collecting some old vinyl over the last year and finally found this one. His big hit was Fun in Acadiana. He passed in October of 2024. Sure do miss him.
