After about 24 hours of fasting, your body starts burning fat and producing ketones, which boost brain function, reduce inflammation, and even ease nerve pain.

Go past 72 hours, and autophagy kicks in. Your body breaks down damaged cells, lowers disease risk, and ramps up stem cell production. Small tweaks like fasting-mimicking can help you get the most benefits.

Inflammation is your body’s natural way of healing after infections, cuts, or injuries. But when it doesn’t turn off, it can contribute to serious conditions like arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s.

At the Feinstein Institute, we’ve spent 30 years studying why persistent inflammation happens, and how it affects long-term health.

People are starting to realize that stress, sleep, and emotions are tied to real physical structures in the body.

Like germ theory once revealed invisible forces at work, we’re now seeing that things like the stellate ganglion and vagus nerve can directly affect how we feel.

What once seemed like fringe science is becoming mainstream, and it shows that caring for these systems can truly impact well-being.

Some days, it feels like life is sprinting past me, and no matter how hard I try, I’m stuck in the blur.

I’ve heard people say, “Take a day to just slow down,” but honestly… I often fail at it. Yet, when I do manage to pause, breathe, and just exist without rushing, the world feels different. Time stretches, moments linger, and I notice the little things I usually miss.

It’s not easy. It’s messy. But it’s worth it. Maybe slowing down isn’t about escaping life, it’s about truly living it.

If you’re trying to catch a breath in the chaos too, follow along. Let’s figure it out together.

PMS taking a toll? Research shows supplements can help.

Omega-3s (2 g/day) for about 45 days improved mood, bloating, anxiety, headaches, and breast tenderness. Zinc sulfate (220 mg, 50 mg elemental zinc) in the last two weeks of your cycle reduced PMS cycles by 60–70% by month three.

💡Tip: Try omega-3s daily, add zinc in the second half of your cycle, and give it a few months to see results.

This time of year, everyone’s thinking about building new habits and achieving big goals. While that’s great, sometimes the smarter move is to focus on breaking a few bad habits first.

Here’s how you can start:

1. Spot the habit and the trigger
- What causes you to fall into the habit? Maybe skipping breakfast makes you reach for sugary snacks, or stress pushes you toward scrolling endlessly on your phone. Recognizing the trigger is the first step to change.

2. Change your environment
- Make it harder to give in. If you’re tempted to snack every night while watching TV, keep snacks out of reach or replace them with healthier options. Out of sight, out of mind really works.

3. Use rewards and consequences
- Reinforce the good and discourage the bad. Celebrate small wins when you resist a habit, or give yourself a minor consequence when you slip. Your brain will start learning which behaviors are worth repeating.

4. Replace it with something better
- Even if you slip, immediately do a replacement action. Craving a soda? Drink water and take a quick walk instead. Over time, your brain rewires to favor the healthier choice.

Breaking bad habits isn’t about willpower, it’s about creating a system that supports lasting change. Start small, stay consistent, and you’ll be surprised at how much progress you can make.

I used to tell everyone about every little goal I had, thinking it would keep me accountable. But halfway through, I noticed something strange: the excitement would fade, people’s expectations would weigh on me, and somehow, my progress felt smaller than it actually was.

I tried something different. I worked quietly, celebrated tiny wins on my own, and let the journey be just mine for a while.

And then the moment came when someone finally noticed. I realized the real reward wasn’t just achieving the goal, but it was actually quietly proving to myself that I could do it. Sometimes, the best way to show growth is to let it speak for itself.

Follow me for more insights on quiet wins, personal growth, and doing life your way!

Fasting mimicking isn’t just for weight loss.It helps lower inflammation and supports your immune system. Studies show it reduces C-reactive protein (CRP) in those with elevated levels, while keeping healthy levels stable.
