What students often notice first isn’t just what they’re learning — it’s how they’re being taught.

Clear instruction. Thoughtful pacing. A curriculum that invites you to think, question, and build real confidence with plants.

These reflections come from students studying with us online and in person, each meeting the material in their own way and finding depth where it matters most.

Join student clinician Isabel Gareau for a deep dive into the astrological origins of herbalism and how these principles can be meaningfully applied to contemporary practice.

Herbalism was not always the empirical vocation we know today – it has deep roots in magical and mythological contexts that incorporated astrology. Our herbalist ancestors practiced with a worldview that was distinctly enchanted, giving credit to celestial bodies and beings for guiding healing.

The works of Paracelsus, Ibn Sina, Hildegard von Bingen, and Culpepper demonstrate a clear alignment of plant medicine and astrology. This class explores their work and others to engage with the basic principles of astroherbalism and medical astrology, with the goal of emerging with an operational framework for working with plants today.

This class is suitable for herbal practitioners, astrologers, or students at any level. No previous experience with astrology is required.

Behind every formula and protocol is a more basic relationship: you and the plants themselves.

The Living Plants Collection is a set of courses for herbalists who want to slow down and study plants as living beings—not just remedies.

Inside this collection:
• Botany & Plant ID — learning to recognize plants through patterns in leaves, flowers, and growth habits, so the field starts to feel familiar
• Flower Essences — working with the subtle emotional and energetic layers of plant medicine, from making a mother essence to thoughtful dosing
• Wisdom Remedies — meeting individual plants as teachers, not just “this-for-that” solutions

If part of your intention this year is to deepen your relationship with the green world—through observation, presence, and study—this collection is a meaningful place to spend time.

Explore the Living Plants courses in our online catalog.

For many herbalists, the real shift happens when the body stops feeling like a checklist of symptoms—and starts revealing itself as a living system.

Our Body Systems modules are designed to support that shift.

Each course explores a single system—skin, digestive, cardiovascular, immune, nervous, respiratory, and more—through a Vitalist, herb-centered lens that connects structure, function, and vitality.

Inside each module, you’ll study:
• Clear anatomy & physiology
• Patterns of depletion, excess, and imbalance
• Herbal strategies that support the system as a whole—not just isolated symptoms

If you’re planning your next season of study, this is an invitation to slow down and truly get to know the systems you want to understand more deeply.

Explore the Body Systems collection through our online course catalog.
