Yes! There are three ways you can possibly deduct the costs of fertility treatments from your taxes:

🔶 Run treatment expenses through an employer sponsored Flexible Savings Account.

🔶 Run treatment expenses through an HSA account (if you have a high-deductible insurance policy).

🔶 Take an itemized deduction on your personal income tax return. To do this you will have to submit Schedule A with a list of your deductions instead of taking the standard deduction. And you can only deduct the part of your medical and dental expenses that is more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI).

According to the IRS, Publication 502, you can deduct the cost of treatment for yourself, your spouse, or your dependent to overcome an inability to have children. Included procedures include in vitro fertilization, temporary storage of eggs or s***m, and surgery.

If you decide to go this route, we strongly advise you to seek help from a qualified tax advisor to ensure that you are taking full advantage of all eligible deductions and following current tax law.

However, things often go wrong with this recipe. Tubes can become blocked. S***m can be unhealthy or low in count. The female partner can have problems ovulating.
