Chelsie Huval is a speech therapist and owner of Huval Speech Services. God placed this calling on her heart years ago when she helped her grandfather relearn to speak after his strokes—it’s where her purpose began. With nearly a decade of experience, Chelsie now helps adults across Acadiana rebuild communication, confidence, and independence after brain injury or stroke. Her patients truly become like family, and she believes every step forward is a reminder of God’s grace in recovery.

I had so much fun visiting Tiny Blessings Daycare and Learning Center last week to teach the kids about what a Speech Therapist does! 🗣️💬

We participated in activities to help people find their words, use their voices, and communicate in all kinds of ways. 💙

It’s never too early to start learning that communication is powerful! 🌿

It’s been a week full of boxes, coffee, and excitement — all leading up to welcoming our patients into a space designed for healing, growth, and connection. 🌿

New Beginnings 💙
Big things are happening this week! 🌿

Huval Speech Services is officially moving into our new clinic space as we begin our exciting collaboration with Brain Injury Nurses of Acadiana — a comprehensive, multidisciplinary center focused on neurological recovery, rehabilitation, and connection. 🧠✨

During this transition week, I’ll be out of office and not seeing patients, but I will be returning calls and messages as we get settled into our new home.

This week, we went all-in on stroke awareness and advocacy! 🧠
I had the amazing opportunity to team up with my students and clients to spread the word about stroke prevention and recognition. It was incredibly rewarding to see them engage with this vital health topic.

🧠 Today is World Stroke Day! October 29 🧠

Did you know that stroke is one of the leading causes of long-term disability in adults? Many people don’t realize how stroke can impact communication, cognition, mobility, and daily life — and awareness is the first step in helping survivors recover.

To help raise awareness, we’re hosting a series of interactive polls all day! 🗳️

We’ll be asking questions like:
Do you know the signs of a stroke?
Do you know what aphasia or apraxia are?
Do you know how rehabilitation can help survivors regain independence?

Your answers will help highlight how much the community knows about stroke — and give us an opportunity to share tips, resources, and support for survivors and their families.
