October is National Physical Therapy month. We are spotlighting our wonderful, talented physical therapy staff. Today is….
Natalie Storey, DPT.
Hi! My name is Natalie Storey. I graduated from Cumberland University with my bachelors degree in Athletic Training. After graduating from Cumberland, I was accepted into the doctoral program at Belmont University and graduated in the very challenging year of 2020. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and I have been practicing for 4&1/2 years. I am also a certified athletic trainer. I’ve been with MCH for 3&1/2 years. I’ve always felt like I was meant to become a physical therapist and I knew from a young age that it was the path I was being led down. Even while going to school to become an athletic trainer I knew physical therapy was the end goal. Since graduation, I have worked in numerous settings, treating a wide variety of patients of all ages. I have provided therapy in the school systems, outpatient clinics, acute care/swing bed hospitals, and in skilled nursing. I have also worked to receive my certification in dry needling, which is a great tool to help patients decrease muscle tension and pain. There isn’t anything more satisfying than hearing a patient get excited when they have reached their personal goals. Whether it is a patient telling me they were able to wash their hair again for the first time in forever, or the athlete getting to play the game they love after being sidelined for an injury, to the worker who is able to get back on the job and provide for themselves again…that is what motivates me daily. Growing up in Hartsville, TN, I experienced such a sense of community, and I love that living in Macon County is no different. I enjoy being outdoors in my free time, spending time with my family, friends and my dog, Monty. I am thankful to be making my community a better place one patient at a time.
