DURING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER Macon Community Hospital will be offering FREE Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) screenings - Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm!
THIS SIMPLE BLOOD TEST MEASURES PSA LEVELS, which could help with the early detection of cancer risk, allowing your physician to provide earlier treatment for overall effectiveness. The test is also designed to
alert your physician of possible infections or an enlarged prostate.
NO APPOINTMENT IS NECESSARY AND WALK-INS ARE WELCOME!

Macon Community Hospital Launches Healthcare Apprenticeship Program with 20 Students Enrolled

Lafayette, TN — August 29th, 2025— Macon Community Hospital is proud to announce the launch of its new Healthcare Apprenticeship Program, designed to prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals in nursing, radiology, and laboratory sciences.

The program, which has already enrolled 20 students, provides a unique opportunity for participants to receive financial assistance with tuition and books, while gaining valuable hands-on training. Upon successful completion, students will be placed in a work experience role at Macon Community Hospital, helping to bridge the gap between education and career.

“This program not only invests in the future of our students but also strengthens the healthcare workforce right here in our community,” said Scott Tongate, CEO of Macon Community Hospital. “We are excited to support students as they take their first steps toward rewarding careers in healthcare.”

The apprenticeship program reflects MCH’s commitment to providing quality healthcare close to home, while also addressing workforce needs in rural Tennessee.
