It's always a blessing to be a blessing!

Today we served just under 200 seniors with a hot meal! Thank you to Kathy Fletcher Victorian and Jay with CenterWell Primary Care Anywhere for hosting us and for your continued partnership. Thank you to our friends at Wellcare Medicare for your support and for always showing up for our seniors. And a special thank you to Chef Mrz Munchies Anita Thomas who surprised us with extra food. Because of her kindness, we were able to bring warm meals directly to the residents of Holy Trinity Villa Apartments in Opelousas.

Today was more than a giveaway. It was a reminder of what happens when community comes together. We appreciate every volunteer, every partner, and every senior we were blessed to serve. Next time will be bigger and better! 💛

What a day!🎉 Thanks to our partners at CenterWell Primary Care Anywhere we were able to provide FREE produce bags to seniors. As well as a variety of holiday pies! During times of uncertainty, it's important to rember who has your back.💪🏾

When we first began planning this event, we knew our community needed help, especially our elderly neighbors. But now, more than ever, with rising costs, economic uncertainty, and recent delays in SNAP benefits, that need has grown even greater.

That is why New Day PCS and Centerwell are proud to host the Healthy Harvest: Fruit + Veggie Giveaway this Saturday, November 6th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Centerwell, 539 Bertrand Drive in Lafayette.

The first 100 seniors ages 60 and up will receive free produce bags. Second Harvest’s Mobile Market will also be onsite offering SNAP Match, which doubles the value for those using EBT. Attendees can also enjoy music, community partners, prizes, and more as we come together to support health, dignity, and connection for our local seniors.

It is more than a giveaway. It is a reminder that when our community stands together, everyone thrives.
