Some weeks it’s more bumps. Some weeks it’s more babies.

The past two weeks have been the sweetest season — some come in and just melt right into the table, all settled and sleepy. And then there are the talkers. The ones who have so much to say during their visit and honestly? It makes my whole heart burst. 🥹

There is something so special about holding space for these tiny humans and watching their little nervous systems find their calm. It never, ever gets old.

If you’ve been wondering whether your baby could benefit from gentle chiropractic care — this is your sign.

“Do you do palate work for babies?”

Yes — and it’s one of the questions I’m asked most. So let me share what that actually looks like.

The palate doesn’t exist on its own. It’s connected to the cranium, the jaw, the neck, the nervous system — all the way down to the pelvis and toes. When there’s tension anywhere in that chain (from birth, positioning, or how baby adapted), the palate can feel tight or restricted.

That tension can show up as latch pain that won’t quit, one-sided head turning, reflux that doesn’t settle, or a baby who just can’t seem to calm down.

And here’s what I want you to know: you’re not imagining it.

When you say something feels off — even if everyone else says “it’s normal” or “give it time” — trust that. Your intuition is information.

Birth is a full-body experience for your baby. Whether they came vaginally or via C-section, planned or unexpected, their little body adapted to forces we can’t always see. And sometimes, they need help letting go of what they’re holding.

This work is extremely gentle. We follow baby’s body. We move slowly. We prioritize their nervous system feeling safe first — because babies won’t release unless they feel safe.

And when they do? Latch often gets easier. Digestion calms. Sleep improves. Their whole system starts to regulate.

You don’t have to just wait it out. You don’t have to watch them “grow out of it” while you’re both struggling.

If your baby is working too hard to latch, turn their head, or settle — let’s talk. I’m here to listen, to see what you’re seeing, and to support both of you.

“Could doing my exercises make baby flip back?”
“Should I stop my exercises now that baby flipped head down?”

These are some of the most common questions I hear from my breech mamas once baby finally moves into position.

You worked so hard to create space and balance—and now you’re wondering if you should stop so baby doesn’t flip back.

In this video, I’m sharing:
✨ My answer (and why)
✨ What I’ve seen with my own breech mamas
✨ My go-to recommendations for keeping baby settled head down.

Because the truth is—your body still needs support all the way through birth. And I don’t want you second-guessing what to do next.

Birth is truly a miracle — but it can also be A LOT on your baby’s body.

Whether they came v@ginally or via cesarean, your baby just experienced something HUGE. And if there were complications — forceps, vacuum, shoulder dystocia, long labor, fast labor — that stress doesn’t just disappear.

Sometimes it shows up as:
* Trouble latching or painful feeds
* Constipation or gas
* Hating the car seat or being put down
* Arching, favoring one side, or seeming uncomfortable
*
Common? Yes.
Normal? No.

We check their head, mouth, jaw, neck, pelvis, and spine for tension — then use gentle pressure (like checking a ripe tomato) to help their body release and support inegration.

This helps them feel safe again and allows them to relax and unwind from stress that can affect their development, even if it’s slight.

If your mama gut is whispering “something just isn’t right” — listen to it. It’s there for a reason.

If you’re looking to support your little one (or yourself) soon after birth, we’d be happy to help! 💛

That one leg popped out. That toddler always living on the same hip. That “this is just how I stand now” posture.

It’s not just a habit.

During pregnancy, these everyday patterns can:• contribute to pain and discomfort• affect how baby is positioned• influence how labor and birth unfold

When the body isn’t moving or loading symmetrically, baby may not have the smoothest path. And while birth can absolutely still be successful, it can become way more eventful than it needs to be.

And let’s be real, we’re not doing unnecessary struggle anymore. Not in 2026. Not ever.

We live in a time where knowledge is accessible, support is available, and better births are something we get to advocate for. Small habit shifts now can create big changes later — for your comfort and your birth experience.

Curious if your posture or daily habits might be impacting your comfort or birth prep?

The short version? Webster certification means specialized training to restore pelvic balance and create space for your baby during pregnancy.

And here at Birth Acadiana Chiropractic, Dr. Alayna has not only completed Webster certification but also advanced prenatal and birth prep training to support you through every stage.

Your baby doesn’t need to be breech or you have to be in pain to start care. A lot of mamas come in during their second or third trimester just to feel more aligned and prepared for birth.
