🎄💙 Mental Health & the Holidays: You’re Not Alone 💙🎄
The holiday season is often filled with joy, celebration, and togetherness — but for many, it can also bring stress, loneliness, and seasonal depression. If you’re feeling overwhelmed this time of year, please know this: your feelings are valid.
Here are a few ways to support your mental health during the holidays:
✅ Set realistic expectations.
Not every moment has to be perfect. Give yourself grace and avoid comparing your holiday to others.
✅ Stick to a routine when possible.
Sleep, meals, movement, and breaks help keep your mood steady — even during busy seasons.
✅ Get sunlight or use a sunlight lamp.
Shorter days can impact serotonin levels. A little light each day can lift your mood.
✅ Stay connected.
Reach out to a friend, family member, or support person. Even a quick check-in call can make a huge difference.
✅ Practice boundaries.
It’s okay to say “no” to events or situations that drain you. Protect your peace.
✅ Move your body.
A short walk, stretching, or gentle exercise boosts your mood by releasing endorphins.
✅ Seek support if you need it.
Therapists, psychiatrists, and support groups can help you navigate seasonal depression or holiday stress.
