RAMBLINGS OF AN INSOMNIAC!!
I just got back from Slovenia and Croatia. Besides being beautiful and in places even breathtaking, what impressed me most is the way the locals live their life!! Unlike here where is an endless and eternal chase of the US Dollar they really live their lives to the fullest . They balance it with aplomb between work and play, I was talking to a cab driver as I always do..[there is so much to learn , who better than an itinerant], The Euros were on and despite it being peak season for travelers he told me that he was going to knock it off to prepare for the Soccer party between mother Nation Croatia and Spain< Even though his home team lost he must have had a lot of fun evidenced by his not turning up the next morning to pick us up, He was telling me that he works for himself and sets his own hours , It is that balance between work and play that I allude to. Here recently one of my best friends had a brain bleed . he pulled through unscathed but for a bit of time it was touch and go!!! One of my heroes , my fav cousin and the first physician in my mom's family just died of Cancer of the lung at a relatively young age. The major irony...he was a teetotaller, a top notch sportsman and a Cancer specialist for Heaven's sake !!! Life is too short, ephemeral, evanescent and fleeting....moral of the story...I plan to change how I live for the few years that I have left... Yes , I have stopped to smell the roses.. Yes, I plan to live my life , not pretend to... I plan to start thinking as to how I can enhance the quality of my life and in the process attempt to enhance that of my loved ones....... So help me GOD!!!! Om Namas Sivaaya!!!

It is so frustrating for me that despite being a physician for over 45 yrs, I have not been able to conquer/circumvent my insomnia!! I have spent an inordinate amount of time studying and researching it and possible cures...to no avail. Don't feel sorry for me, that is not my expectation but thriving on 3 to 5 hrs a sleep only is CURSE!!🥲🥲
