August 3rd marked five years ago everything changed for Katie McCauley—full custody of her children was restored, and the life she fought so hard for became reality. For years, substance use kept them apart, and voices around her said it was too late. Katie once came to us as a peer receiving recovery support services, and today she serves as our Parent Elected Peer Advocate (PEPA) Program Coordinator in Coweta and Troup Counties, helping others fight for the same hope she once needed. Now, she and her children have been together longer than they were separated, and her story is a powerful reminder: it’s never too late, there is always hope, and your children’s greatest wish is simply to have a happy, healthy, whole YOU. 💜💜
