Three Mission Hospital caregivers were recognized by Orange County Fifth District Supervisor Katrina Foley for their contributions in supporting breast cancer awareness in our communities. Sandy Edson, senior director of imaging and laboratory services, Susann Burnett, nurse navigator, and Jane Codd, supervisor diagnostic imaging, were honored at this week’s Orange County Supervisors Meeting.
“This month we recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to remember those that we’ve lost, those that are survivors, and those that are currently fighting for their lives,” shared Supervisor Foley. “This year’s theme is ‘every story is unique and every journey matters,’ reminding us that each life and story touched by breast cancer is dynamically personal. In 2024, an estimated 311,000 women and 2,800 men were diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Our Orange County Healthcare Agency reports more than 360 lives lost to breast cancer annually in O.C. Breast cancer touches everyone.”
Added Sandy, “Jane and Susann have been tirelessly representing our LCI team at community events and are extremely dedicated to supporting our communities and our patients.
