Many people do not share with their loved ones that they are experiencing thoughts of su***de for a variety of reasons: fear of burdening someone, fear of being judged, or even feeling too hopeless to try. These are some of the most common signs that someone is going through deep pain and having suicidal thoughts, as well as absolutely essential resources that are always available if you’re unsure of how to help someone or how to talk to someone. Remember, Oak Health Foundation is ALWAYS here if you need someone to talk to.

We’re encouraged to see more people talking openly about mental health. Still, as therapy terms show up more on social media and in everyday conversation, their meanings can get blurred. Words like “trauma,” “OCD,” or “triggered” have specific clinical definitions — and using them loosely can create confusion or minimize real experiences. Let’s break down a few psychology terms that are often misused and clarify what they really mean.

Why do some of us crave scary films ESPECIALLY when we are stressed and anxious in our personal lives? It has to do with catharsis.

Whether or not you turn to a scary film to blow off some steam or forget about your stress for a moment, take comfort in the fact that the good news of the Gospel will always overpower darkness!

Jesus Christ, the ultimate example of compassion and service, knew the importance of caring for Himself. 🙏 He leaned on friends, sought solitude, and took moments to recharge. In a world that often asks us to give and where our emotions can reach various heights, it’s a reminder that nurturing our own well-being isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. 🌿💛
