I provide individual and family counseling, working with kids, teens, adults, and families. I help people dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and behavioral/family issues during the child to teenage years. I also work with people battling various types of addiction, anger management, relationship struggles, motivation challenges, self worth/self confidence difficulties, self harm, and suicidal thoughts. I have experience working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and welcome any of its members. I am honored to help those looking for optional Christian spiritual integration in their counseling. I love working with all types of people. I believe in helping everyone discover his or her strengths, rather than focusing too much on areas of weakness. I help people by challenging the way they think and recognizing alternative ways of thinking. Helping you see that you are valuable and cared about is very important to me. After just a session or two, I want you to feel a lack of judgment; instead, I want you to feel accepted, but also challenged to improve and grow. I am an optimist and truly believe in each client I work with. I consider the position I’m in as a counselor to be a huge honor; hearing every unique story is such a privilege, even when what you have to say may be incredibly difficult. As for my background, I spent several years as an elementary school teacher in Phoenix (2nd & 4th grades) before becoming a youth pastor at a church in Tempe, Arizona. In 2006, I graduated from Arizona State University with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. In 2012, I graduated from Grand Canyon University with two degrees: a Master of Science in Professional Counseling and a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling. I have been in the field of mental health counseling since 2012. I’ve mostly worked in private practice, though I have also provided counseling at shelters for unaccompanied adolescents from Central America, as well as spent time as Clinical Supervisor at a counseling center for children, teens, and families. In my personal life, you’ll find me leading an active lifestyle. You can often find me training for my next half or full marathon, at the beach, spending time with friends or family, volunteering at my church’s youth group, reading, watching or playing various sports, scuba diving, or traveling. I finally returned home to California in 2020 after many years in Arizona’s desert. I am still a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona and am available for telehealth appointments with clients living in Arizona. Hope to see you soon,
