To all of my friends who are Chiropractor’s, educate your patients on who should be wearing N95 masks, and why. I had a new patient this morning who was wearing a N95 mask, and during our history taking of his exam, he looked up at me, and I saw a blank stare in his eyes. I asked him if he was ok, and he said “I feel weird”. I told him to take his mask off, and as soon as he did, he passed out. Luckily I caught him before he hit the ground. It took him about 5 minutes to start to come to. I immediately called 911. When the EMS and fire fighters arrived, they asked what happened, and I explained that he may have “hypercapnia- increased CO2 and causes hypoventilation. They agreed and rushed him to the local hospital. His girlfriend called me back this afternoon and thanked me for saving his life.
Please read the “OSHA AND WHO”, websites about mask types and safety, especially the end of the article’s which talk about fabric and cloth masks (non-medical) and how they may actually cause an increase to become infected with a virus.
