Here is what I eat to consume 140 g of protein and 35 g of fiber!

I’m eating super clean at the moment and my physical body and mental health is saying THANK YOU!

All macros are importantly and should not be neglected.

Carbs: energy ✨

Fats: satiety, hormone production, blood sugar balance 😌

Protein: satiety, muscle building, blood sugar balance 💪🏼

Fiber: blood sugar balance, micronutrients, and gut health 🤌🏼

I eat a mixture of purpose meals, and pleasure meals.

Pleasure meals are meals that I truly enjoy and look forward to eating.

Purpose meals are meals that I’m eating just to hit macros. They don’t excite me but they do make room for more pleasure meals.

Switching your mindset from tracking calories to lose weight, to tracking macros in order to change your body composition and fuel yourself in a way that makes you happy, is the best mindset shift I’ve mastered. If you can do this, you’ll start to look at food differently. This will make any sort of body composition goal so much easier to achieve!

33 years ago yesterday, the Universe decided it was my time.

I wasn’t quite ready. I came two weeks late, a chunky little babe with a full head of hair (sorry, Mom).

Life’s been a wild ride ever since.

Before I turned 12, I had already lived in three different countries.

I was married and divorced by 23.

Walked away from a full-ride scholarship to chase my dreams in beauty and health (yeah… my parents loved that one).

Started an international business that helps women laugh louder, heal deeper, and feel more like themselves.

I’ve felt heartbreak I thought would break me.

I’ve traveled the world while helping women reclaim their vitality.

I’ve lived through stories that read like novels and felt like movies.

And I’ve given and received more love than I ever thought possible.

Right now, I’m living the dream my 15-year-old self used to journal about.

And even though this year has been one of the most fragile and frustrating of my life…
I’m still so damn grateful to be me.

I couldn’t have gotten here without the people who held me, guided me, challenged me, and loved me through it all…
My family, my friends, my mentors, my team, my clients, and this social media community.

Thank you for the birthday love.

Your words of affirmation are holding me up more than you know.

SWIPE TO SEE MY BODY 8 YEARS AGO >>>

My weekly activity 8 years ago was working 3-4 part time jobs and 65 hours a week, living for the weekends which consisted of alcohol, eating out, and partying till 3 am, sleeping 6 hours a night, and masking the pain of my divorce by keeping busy socially. I was eating restaurant foods and drinking 3-4x a week.

When my Thanksgiving “fat pants’ did not fit anymore ( you know the stretchy ones you can eat in) I knew it was time to change.

I dieted for 6 months and lost 30 lbs and stated doing Bikini competitions.

KEEP SWIPING TO SEE MY BODY STRUGGLE WITH HORMONE AND GUT ISSUES POST INITIAL TRANSFORMATION >>>>

Between 2019 and 2022 (the rest of the photos) I struggled with hormone labs that look perimenopausal. No s*x hormones at all. I had really high cortisol levels and everything healthy I was doing wasn’t working anymore. I had cortisol belly and kept gaining fat. Once I fixed my hormones I lost the 15 lbs I gained from it.

I then went through massive gut issues and suffered from extremely bloating, massive acne, and gained weight again from it. I took a stool test, fixed my gut and lost the 15 lbs I gained from it. 

Since 2022 I have lived in a body that responds well to healthy routines and habits. I’ve maintained 140 lbs and my physique hasn’t shifted drastically. I am the most at peace that I have ever been and I 100% give credit to fixing my internal health AND learning how to sustain a healthy gut microbiome and hormone levels.

First pic was me last weekend wearing something I never thought I could! 

Knowledge is power which is why I’m obsessed with our ASCEND program where we lead our clients through the same exact journey. We fix their gut and hormone issues all while educating them on how they got there and how they can prevent it from happening again. We do this ALL WHILE HELPING THEM LOSE FAT TOO!

Here’s a little reality check, ladies. 👀 I edited this photo to look skinnier, but this isn’t my real body.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the ‘perfect’ images we see on social media, but those photos don’t always reflect real life.

So many of us compare ourselves to these unrealistic standards, chasing an edited version of body composition that’s not even attainable for most. This can take a serious toll on both our mental and physical health (over exercising and under eating).

Constantly striving for a body that’s filtered or photoshopped can mess with your mindset, leading to anxiety, low self-esteem, and unhealthy habits.

It’s not about looking a certain way — it’s about feeling strong, healthy, and confident in the skin you’re in. 💖

Remember, your worth isn’t tied to an edited image.

Let’s set realistic goals, love our bodies for what they do, and focus on our overall well-being, not just the ‘ideal’ shape.

You are more than enough, exactly as you are. 💪

Here is a look at my 20%!

I’ve been in Nosara and Costa Rica since Tuesday of last week and it’s been a blast! 🤩

I am here working and also celebrating my besties birthdays.

What I have done so far:

Beach dips and journaling
A yoga session
A jog forced by birthday girl
Catamaran Cruise to a island beach
Sleeping in
Too much drinking for my 32 year old liver
So much laughing
Reminiscing with my Midwest gals on our wild 20s
Tanning

It’s been wonderful!

I will report back and say that my body does feel really inflamed. Drinking alcohol 🍷 just does help my digestion. Although the food is really clean here it is hard to completely avoid gluten which is causing inflammation and rashes.

Celebrations like this are super important to me for the memories and connections but they also make me really value my regular 80%. 😍

Years ago I would go home guilty, starve myself, overdue it with exercises etc…now I will just go home and resume my normal lifestyle knowing that my body only needs a 24 hour reset consisting of clean food, sleep, and water.

It’s so peaceful knowing what my body needs and trusting that it will bounce back quick!

Just a few more days and I will be back home working on a big Fall Project that will benefit all of you!

Hi! I’m Maria!

If you are new to my page, I wanted to introduce myself.

I am a Midwest gal that grew up in London, Sicily, and Missouri.

I moved out to California in 2019 to further my fitness career and to place myself in an environment that was open-minded, expansive, health conscious, and filled with opportunities.

Before I became a hybrid functional health coach, I was a national bikini 👙 competitor, and before that a major party girl 🍹 . Ya girl loved to eat and drink! Which is how I gained the 30 lbs that led to my fat loss journey.

I live by myself in a beautiful apartment with tons of plants 🌱 , soft colors, natural light, and textures. I have the sweetest apartment manager named Chloe 🐩 who makes sure the couch doesn’t run away.

I travel 🧳 quite a bit and usually work while I do it. Traveling feeds my soul and I am shining my brightest in other countries. In fact I’m at the airport right now headed to Costa Rica to work and play in the jungle!

In 2018 I founded the Me, Myself & Health Academy . 6 years later we are an international hybrid functional health coaching company ( mouthful I know ) that serves women across the globe. Including myself we have 3 coaches on board!

We specialize helping the “I’m doing everything right but see no results” woman by addressing internal health first 💕

🥸Could gluten be the cause of your body inflammation?🥸

Hi, I’m Maria and I’ve dealt with eczema my entire life.

Eczema is a skin condition that is caused by a buildup of inflammation in the body amongst other things.

As a kid, I had eczema in between my fingers, underneath my nails, inside of my elbows, behind my knees, in between my toes, and all over my mouth and face. It was BRUTAL. 😭

My parents tried everything. They tried tinctures, they tried oatmeal baths, and they tried steroids. But nothing fixed the root cause of the rashes.

Common causes for flares are:
-overactive immune system
-inflammation from foods or unhealthy lifestyle
-chemicals in products/foods
-stress
-animal dander/hair (Chloe is hypoallergenic)
-dry air, extreme heat/cold (one of the reasons I moved to CA)

When I started my fitness journey back in 2017, I had one of the biggest rashes on my face ever. It covered my whole right side of my cheek, and it would itch, ooze, and crack.

It was then I decided that I was done using things to fix the rashes. I was ready to dig deep to find what was CAUSING it in the first place.

After doing research on nutrition, I removed gluten and my symptoms drastically improved. I also noticed that I was less bloated, and had less fatigue.

With proper stress management techniques, a gluten-free diet, and a focus on natural/clean products, I’ve been able to reduce my rashes. The only time they pop up are when I’m stressed or accidentally have gluten. And then it’s only on my lips and cheek.

I share this for two reasons.
1) Look into what is causing the pain in your life instead of what is going to temporarily mask the pain.
2) a gluten intolerance will not always manifest itself with a rash, it could just be bloating, brain fog, and body inflammation. None of those symptoms are normal. Question them.

I strongly feel that everyone should remove gluten for a period of timejust to see how the body responds and then reintroduce and asses.

Anyways, just wanted to share a little struggle of mine 😚

❌ DON’T DO THIS ❌

- The 1,200 calorie MYFitnesspal diet
- The weight loss colon clense
- 2-a-days at the gym
- Your boyfriend workout program
- Phentramine / appetite suppressants
- Fat Loss Pills
- Adkins, Optavia, Weight Watchers, or similar program
- Low Carb / Keto (time and place for this)
- Low fat
- Under eating and over training

All of these simply will cause you to rebound and gain the weight back.

These unsustainable plans increase hunger and cortisol levels. They disrupt female hormone production and balance.

In time this will all lead to weight gain, decreased muscle mass, AND higher body fat %.

I know the quick fix and the easy way out approach seems flashy but it never works long term.

The only thing that I’ve seen that works long-term is actually living like a healthy person and practicing healthy habits every day.

Some of you don’t actually want to be healthy, which is why you yo-yo diet. You see weight loss as “I just want to lose 15 lbs so I can look good on this trip” and then you go back to your old ways. Just to do this time and time again.

You have to WANT to change your lifestyle.
You have to WANT to be better permanently.
You have to WANT to lose weight not only to fit into a bikini but to have VITALITY and show up as a better version of yourself.

And that takes time.

Stop doing the quick fixes.
Start making small changes.

Hire a coach to help you do this.
To give you step by step action.
To educate you.
To keep your internal health and metabolism safe so you don’t rebound and can have MORE ENERGY while your body shifts.

It’s a journey. Not a sprint.

We are here for your journey.
