🧠 What if documentation didn’t rely on memory alone?

For teams like Warriors Heart, the challenge wasn’t the quality of care, it was capturing everything that mattered after the session.

Echo supports documentation in real time, helping teams capture more complete, consistent notes without adding extra work.

♾️ What Continuous Compliance Actually Looks Like

Continuous compliance isn't a checklist of spreadsheets & emails. It's structured, proactive, and flows for year-round readiness.

With InCheck, your compliance status reflects the policies, documentation, and standards your team manages inside the system, including tracked updates, expirations, and assigned follow-through.

You're not relying on memory or last-minute scrambles. You're working from a clear, centralized source of truth.

Behind every feature at Alleva is a team that understands the realities of behavioral health.

Kristin joined Alleva after working in medical billing and coding, where she saw how difficult it could be for providers to work with software that didn’t support their workflows.

Read more below to learn more about Kristin’s story.

"Before joining Alleva, I worked in medical billing and coding, where I saw firsthand how difficult it could be for behavioral health organizations to work with software that didn’t truly support their workflows. Providers were doing incredibly important work, but the tools they relied on often made their jobs harder instead of easier.

When I had the opportunity to join Alleva, the company’s mission to “help the helpers” immediately stood out. It felt meaningful to be part of a team focused on building software designed specifically to support behavioral health providers and the vital work they do every day.

Since joining Alleva, I’ve seen just how powerful the impact of behavioral health facilities can be, not only in the communities they serve, but also in my own life and in the lives of people around me. It’s deeply personal work, and it’s inspiring to contribute to a platform that helps these organizations operate more effectively.

What makes Alleva especially meaningful to me is the culture. It truly feels like a family; a place where people care about each other not just as employees, but as individuals. I’m proud to work on a product built from real-world experience, compassion, and a genuine commitment to supporting the people who help others every day."

Many behavioral health organizations believe they’re audit-ready.

Until an accreditation survey reveals the gaps.

Compliance breakdowns rarely start with documentation.
They start with operational workflows.

• Incident follow-ups
• Corrective actions
• Policy revision cycles
• Life safety tracking and more...

When these processes are managed through spreadsheets or disconnected systems, accountability can become difficult to maintain.

In this discussion, Erica Ward and John David explore:

• The compliance gaps many organizations don’t see until audits occur
• Why documentation alone doesn’t create accountability
• What operationally audit-ready compliance workflows look like
• How organizations can move from reactive audits to continuous readiness

3 Red Flags Your Compliance System Isn't Working

🚩 #1: You're still manually checking boxes on a compliance checklist.
🚩 #2: Your team is spending more time on audits than patients.
🚩 #3: You're constantly scrambling at the last minute before inspections.

If you're nodding right now, your compliance system may be holding you back.

And it's costing you more than just time, it’s maintaining compliance without creating growth.

💡Many behavioral health programs spend up to 5% of gross revenue on compliance, not because compliance is strategic, but because it’s manual, fragmented, and reactive.

Spreadsheets. Shared drives. Consultants. Endless hours just to stay audit-ready. That effort maintains compliance, but it doesn’t create scale.

InCheck centralizes compliance into one GRC system. Automating readiness, reducing manual work, and giving teams time back to focus on care, not paperwork.

🧠 What happens when the most important details never make it into the notes?

In behavioral health, documentation often happens after long days. Complex conversations, emotional sessions, and limited time to capture everything that mattered.

The risk isn’t lack of care.
It’s that critical context can be lost between sessions and systems.

Warriors Heart, a nationally recognized program serving veterans and first responders, wanted a way to reduce administrative burden without sacrificing clinical depth.

That’s where their journey with Echo began.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll share what they learned and how Echo is helping teams capture care more completely.

👨‍💻 Behind every feature we build is a real person who cares deeply about the impact of the work. Meet Jonny, one of the engineers helping shape Alleva’s platform — and why this work matters to him.

Read below to learn more about his Alleva Journey 👇

"I got into engineering because I’ve always believed technology should make people’s lives better. I didn’t just want to use technology, I wanted to help build it in a way that actually matters.

I joined Alleva while I was still in college as an intern, where I had the opportunity to rebuild our mobile app. After graduating, I transitioned into a full-time, full-stack developer role, and today I’m a team lead. I’ve been with Alleva for five and a half years, and it’s been incredible to grow alongside the platform and the people behind it.

One of the most impactful moments of my time here was hearing from a customer that the mobile app I helped build played a role in saving someone’s life by catching something that hadn’t come up during sessions. That moment really stayed with me. It reinforced that what we build at Alleva has real, human impact and it motivates me to hold our code and features to the highest possible standard so we can support the people doing this work every day.

Today, I spend a lot of time working with AI across our development process. We use it during research and planning to create interactive mockups and document requirements, during development to help write high-quality code, and during testing and review to improve accuracy and reliability. It’s helped us move faster without sacrificing quality. I’ve also been directly involved in building AI-powered features like Echo and Travis, which are designed to help our customers work more effectively and focus on what matters most.

Being able to contribute to technology that supports helpers and knowing that the work we do truly makes a difference is what keeps me excited to build here every day."

⏳ You're spending 12 hours every week just staying compliant. That's time you could be spending on patient care.

Traditional compliance tracking requires endless spreadsheets, fragmented documents, and constant manual updates.

The real cost? Missed deadlines, audit failures, and burned-out staff who should be helping patients, not chasing paperwork.

Our Story

Founded in 2017, Alleva was started to help people overcome addiction and treat mental illness. After enjoying great experiences in the healthcare technology space, while subsequently watching family members and friends struggle with addiction and mental health issues, we decided to put our knowledge and expertise to good use by helping individuals and families achieve peace and happiness in their lives.

Our “Aha!” moment came as we watched a behavioral health treatment center open next to our offices and struggle as they dealt with managing an-ever increasing patient load. We listened to the challenges they faced and started devising ideas of how we could help.

Our mission is to help people overcome their struggles by providing state-of-the-art technology to the clinicians and administrators who care for them. Helping our clients trend data and automate processes and workflows that were once tedious allows our customers to spend more time doing their most important work — caring for their patients.
