Friday Fun Day!!!

Having a little lunch time fun with a friendly jumping/balance challenge at the clinic! 😜

It took a few takes but it was fun adjusting with each rep to get it down! Naduah was clearly the good luck charm. If you find a good challenge you’d like to challenge your PT to, shoot us a message and we can try to give it a go 🙃

Thriving Thursday shoutout! 📣🥳👏🏽

HUGE shoutout to for taking 6th place at the Illinois Girls State tournament last weekend!

This is a DREAM accomplishment for those who wrestle, and an even more incredible achievement for someone that ruptured their ACL several weeks before the State Series.

But that didn’t stop Riley from chasing her dreams. Utilizing the appropriate medical professionals, she decided to attempt rehabbing the knee to be able to compete in her Senior season. I cannot highlight enough, the high level of focus, determination, adherence to a plan, and just downright grit that Riley put in every single day towards her goal, and to get on that State podium in those circumstances is truly amazing.

Congratulations Riley! Now go get em in surgery and we look forward to getting after the rehab to get you back to wrestling full force!

Work The Weakness Wednesday!!!

Here’s a simple exercise for you guys to target gluteus medius, core (transversus abdominis, obliques, multifidus), and foot intrinsics to help improve single leg stability.

We commonly use this exercise in the clinic for anybody exhibiting less than great single leg stability, or functional genu valgum (knee caving in) during squatting/lunging/stepping exercises. Have fun with it and let us know how it goes!

Please welcome Dr. Steven Busby to Team Invictus!!! 🥳👏🏽🎉

Steven joins us with a wealth of sports medicine knowledge and experience! He earned his B.S. in Athletic Training from Indiana Wesleyan University, his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Northwestern University, and then completed a Sports Physical Therapy Residency with the University of Toledo Medical Center to become a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS).

Steven was also a collegiate baseball player during his time at Indiana Wesleyan, which, coupled with his SCS gives him a unique perspective to rehabbing sports related injuries! To learn more about Steven and all that he brings to ISM, please check out his full bio on our website.

Tuesday Shoutout!! 🎤👏🤩

ISM wants to highlight the recent success of former patient and friend .kelly for winning Nationals (again) and a top 5 finish at the World Championships as a Strongwoman athlete.

Her return and performance are incredible in their own right, but more impressive to return to carrying a 600 # car after two years earlier tearing her ACL doing the same event. Kelly is a true show of resilience, discipline, and focused toughness, all while being an amazing human. Congratulations Kelly! 👏💪🫶
