For World Health Day 2026, the theme is “Together for health. Stand with science.” A healthier community is built when people can get the care they need, the answers they deserve, and the support to make informed decisions about their health close to home. At Lake Butler Hospital, that is part of what science-based care looks like every day.

When a patient needs answers, services like CT scans and ultrasounds can help provide clarity, guide care, and bring peace of mind. For our community, that also means less waiting, less stress, and less time spent traveling out of town for important imaging, with many appointments and results available the same day.

World Health Day is a reminder that strong communities are shaped by trusted care, timely answers, and local healthcare teams who are here when it matters most. We are proud to be part of that work every day.

A stronger, healthier community does not happen on its own. It grows when our seniors are encouraged to stay active, connected, and well, and are better equipped to live independent lives. It grows when students are given the chance to explore healthcare careers and imagine how they might one day help others in their community. It grows through care, prevention, education, and people who choose to serve locally every day.

This National Public Health Week, we are proud to see that mission come to life at Lake Butler Hospital and Lake Butler Family & Pediatric Clinic. Through Let’s THRIVE, hosted by our Rehabilitation Department, we support healthier aging through movement, connection, and wellness. Through our annual HOSA Student Experience, made possible by teams across our hospital, clinic, EMS, and UCHS, we help open young minds to the future of healthcare and the meaningful role they can play in caring for others. And we are just getting started.

To us, public health is not just something recognized nationally. It is a local commitment to helping our community stay well, feel supported, and build a stronger future right here at home. We are proud to be part of that work every day.

We hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter weekend. A little sunshine, a lot of laughter, and some surprisingly competitive egg-hunting made for a fun Easter moment at Lake Butler Hospital. Our yard turned into a candy-and-cash adventure, and let’s just say some of our team members clearly came to win. 🐰🥚

Sometimes the simplest moments bring the biggest smiles. What started as a quick Easter egg hunt turned into a joy-filled break in the day and a fun reminder that even in a busy season, there is always room for laughter, connection, and a little celebration together.

At Lake Butler Hospital, caring for people is at the heart of what we do. That includes caring for the team members who show up each day to care for our patients and community. Moments like these help build the kind of positive, supportive culture that makes this place special and helps our compassion shine through in the care we provide.

From all of us at Lake Butler Hospital and Lake Butler Family & Pediatric Clinic, we hope your Easter weekend was full of joy, and we wish you peace and continued blessings this Easter season.

Just a little proof that smiles are part of our care plan too. A hospital stay can feel a little lighter when people go out of their way to bring joy. Our Rehab team at Lake Butler Hospital came together to dress up, share Easter treats with patients, and bring a little extra joy to the day.

Patients loved the Easter gift bags, and little moments like these show how much our team cares.

Thank you to our Rehab and outpatient teams, and to all the staff who shared this experience, for the personal, heartfelt care given to every patient we serve.

No one has officially confirmed the Easter Bunny works here… and HR is staying strangely quiet. … which is exactly what the Easter Bunny would want. 🐰🤭🐣

From our Lake Butler Hospital and Clinic families, along with one very cool chicken and bunny, to yours, we wish you a safe, happy, and blessed Easter.

Lake Butler Hospital is proud to announce a purrrrr-fectly new breakthrough in feline medicine. Starting April 1st, we are expanding our Imaging Department to include Official CAT Scans. Our highly trained imaging specialists are now prepared to evaluate some of the most complex conditions, including:

• Spontaneous Liquid Bone Disorder: Explaining how your cat can somehow fit into literally anything.

Is your body trying to tell you something? Today is American Diabetes Alert Day. A reminder that diabetes often develops quietly, without obvious warning signs. That’s why early awareness matters.

Watch for these signs:
💧 Increased thirst
🚻 Frequent urination
🥱 Feeling tired more than usual
👀 Blurred vision
🩹 Slow-healing cuts or sores
These symptoms may seem small at first, but they should not be ignored.

Here’s what many people don’t realize:
A home test shows your blood sugar right now. A lab test shows your blood sugar over time. That matters because lab work can help catch problems early, guide treatment, and show whether your health efforts are working.

At Lake Butler Hospital, our lab services help you and your provider see the bigger picture so you can:
✔ Catch diabetes early
✔ Understand your risk
✔ Take action sooner

If something feels off, or you simply want peace of mind, ask your doctor about getting your labs done at Lake Butler Hospital. 📞 Call (386) 496-2323 or visit LakeButlerHospital.com to learn more about our fast, accurate lab services close to home.

What an unforgettable day at Lake Butler Hospital. We were honored to welcome HOSA students from Union County High School for a hands-on experience that gave them a real look inside the world of healthcare. Students explored interactive department booths, connected with our team, and experienced the skill, compassion, teamwork, and heart behind patient care.

From sutures on a pig’s foot to an IO demonstration using a chicken bone, seeing how Union County EMS uses the LUCAS device in emergency care, and discovering the microscopic world of our laboratory, students had the chance to experience healthcare in a way that was real, memorable, and eye-opening. They also explored breathing machines, rehab equipment, and other demonstrations that brought healthcare careers to life.

One of the best parts of the day was seeing students stay curious, ask thoughtful questions, and fully engage throughout the experience. We were proud to share not only what we do, but why we do it, and to help students see the many paths available to them in healthcare.

Thank you to our staff, providers, Union County EMS, teachers, and school leaders for helping make the day so meaningful. Experiences like this remind us how important it is to invest in the future of healthcare right here in our community.
