Today, our team had the privilege of spending the morning at Union County High School for Career Day, and it was one of those moments that makes you feel proud of where we live and confident in the future.

We met inspired students already exploring careers in healthcare, including nursing, physicians, radiology, therapy, lab, neurology, EMS, imaging, pharmacy, respiratory care, surgical services, nutrition, behavioral health, administration, veterinary, and so much more.

Students were full of curiosity, and we loved their questions:
• I faint at the sight of blood. Do I still have a future in healthcare?
• How often do people come in because Google scared them?
• What does a day in the ER really look like, and do you ever get a quiet day?
• Needles freak me out. What are good options that don’t involve them?
• How hard is nursing school, for real?
• I love helping people, but math hates me. What are my options?

Those questions matter. These students are curious, learning, and growing into the kind of citizens who will strengthen the world wherever they go, starting right here in Union County.

To the parents, teachers, and local businesses supporting the event today, thank you for helping these students grow into confident, capable young adults. 🥰 What a morning at Let’s THRIVE. February’s Heart Care Made Simple program reminded us of something powerful: when we understand our health, we feel more confident, more calm, and more in control.

Thank you to Dr. Yashwant Agrawal of Ibrahim Heart Clinic for making heart care clear, reassuring, and practical. From chest pressure to circulation concerns, our seniors left with knowledge they can use. And a big thank-you to our own Demetrise Thomas for hosting at our new location, plus our team for stepping up to support the seniors in our community.

👢✨ Boots, Bling, Blessings, and a Whole Lot of Heart
Last night, the Lake Butler Hospital team traded scrubs for boots and bling at the Promised Land Family Ministries Celebration Dinner at Pine Grove Barn. It was the kind of night that reminds you what makes Union County special.

Promised Land Family Ministries (PLFM) is on the front lines of strengthening Union County: a food pantry that helps neighbors get through tough weeks, community health days that provide free resources and care, hands-on programs like apiary and hydroponics farming that build skills and sustainability, cooking classes, and youth programs that give kids a safe, faith-based place to grow.

Event highlights:
• The Heart: Stories of hope and progress happening right here in our community
• The Food: Hills BBQ brought the flavor with an incredible dinner
• The Fun: Laughs were free. That cake auction was not. Union County doesn’t play about dessert. 🍰😄
• The Connection: Familiar faces, shared purpose, and a community showing up for one another.

🚧 Progress Update: Parking Improvements Underway at our Clinic and Business Office Building 🚧 Today’s the 3rd, and the front parking upgrades are moving quickly. Why this matters for patients and families:
✅ Safer, smoother arrival (more level ground, fewer trip hazards)
✅ Easier walk to the front doors
✅ Better access for strollers, wheelchairs, and mobility needs

Reminders while we finish:
• In-person visits paused; Telehealth still available.
• Medical Records: Park on side lot; enter main entrance.
• Normal visits and parking return on the afternoon of Wednesday, Feb 4.

Last week, hospital leaders from across Florida met at the Florida Capitol through the Florida Hospital Association to speak up for patients and rural communities like ours.
