2026 DECON Training Day 💪 This week, our team stepped into a different kind of training - one that looks a little like a “pop-up car wash,” but has a serious purpose. Our staff got hands-on with real emergency readiness by setting up our large inflatable decontamination tent with multiple shower lanes, and training step-by-step on how to suit up and respond safely to help protect our community.

So what is DECON training? DECON stands for decontamination. It is how hospitals prepare for rare emergencies where one person, or many, may arrive exposed to harmful chemicals or residue - fuel, pesticides, smoke-related contaminants, industrial cleaners, pepper spray, or an unknown substance - so we can protect patients, visitors, and staff.

Hopefully, you will never see this equipment in action. But if the unexpected ever happens, we want Lake Butler and Union County to know our team trains for these moments and is ready to step in quickly when it matters most.
