Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Today is a wonderful reminder to appreciate the world around us. A sunny window, fresh air, green trees, and blooming flowers can brighten any day. Even small actions such as recycling, saving water, or turning off lights can help care for the planet we all share. It feels good to take a moment to enjoy nature and do our part to protect it!

This month we are celebrating Occupational Therapy Month and the caring professionals who help residents stay as comfortable, confident, and independent as possible. Occupational therapists focus on the little things that make a big difference each day. From helping someone hold a spoon again to making it easier to get dressed or sit comfortably, their work supports dignity, confidence, and quality of life. We are grateful for the compassion and creativity occupational therapists bring to the residents they serve.

At Brookdale Assisted Living, our Social Services Director treated residents to root beer floats and 10 rounds of Bingo, sponsored by yours truly.

Our residents also attended Super Bingo during the Black Heritage Festival. As you can see from their smiles, they came ready to play and win. With over 20 rounds of bingo, who wouldn’t be excited? 😉

Our Easter egg hunt was so much fun! We loved watching all the little ones run around trying to find the eggs. We even had a special visitor: The Easter Bunny!

We would like to thank all of our sponsors and volunteers who helped out in any way for our event. Special shout outs go to Ms. Amy with Lagniappe, Mr. Eligha with King's Funeral Home, King Liam's Ice Cream truck, Calcasieu Parish Marshalls.

Special thanks to our Dietary manager Mrs. Nicole and her team for preparing the meal, Ms. Adrienana our Social worker, for helping with the preparations, Ms. Kayla, one of our LPN's for being the Easter Bunny, Mr. James the porter for helping out with the decorations, and all the staff that had a hand in going above and beyond for our Residents. From our Administrator, Ms. Priscilla the Activity Director, Ms. Lindsey and Ms. Ora our assistants, and all of us here at Landmark of Lake Charles, really appreciate the gratitude! ❤️
